Introductions include an enterprise-scale S2 NetBox solution, VoIP integration, and updates for existing users S2 Security Corporation (S2) today released details of a broad range of new technologies it will debut at the ASIS International Show.

Among the new technologies to be shown are solutions for large-scale applications, code-named S2 NetBox XL, and a new, voice over IP (VoIP) intercom network appliance.

S2 NetBox XL addresses large-scale deployments of S2 NetBox systems and S2 Network Nodes, making it possible to scale systems across any geography while providing both local and remote web-based control.  S2 NetBox XL revolutionizes how enterprise-wide deployments are handled by leveraging the power of network infrastructure to facilitate centralized or distributed control.  The S2 system further allows the user to develop and implement corporate-wide security policies to handle access control, monitoring, video, and other physical security functions.

"The introduction of XL takes the handcuffs off those customers who want to build easy-to- manage security management networks that can be administered from anywhere and have the best total cost of ownership," said John L. Moss, CEO of S2 Security Corporation.  "Traditionally, organizations that wanted to implement large-scale deployments were confined to massive investments in products that were difficult to install and expensive to maintain.  S2 NetBox XL breaks down that wall and makes it possible to build out these networks right now."

The VoIP intercom network appliance is a third generation (3G) two-way, IP-enabled, SIP compliant audio device.  S2 will be offering the ability to intelligently route intercom calls in an upcoming S2 NetBox software release.  "This is not an ordinary intercom," noted Moss.  "Intercom calls are routed based on user-defined rules, and the unit acts as a PA or paging system that can be accessed from any computer.  Programming is done through the familiar, easy-to-navigate, web-based S2 NetBox user interface."

S2 will also preview S2 NetBox software version 2.5, expected to be released late this year.  The new software includes extensive support for user roles, network-aware anti-passback, further enhanced floor plan graphics, and numerous other features requested by the growing S2 NetBox community.

S2 is scheduling deliveries of the S2 NetBox XL and VoIP intercom for Q1 2007.  The upgraded version 2.5 software is scheduled for release in Q4 2006.
