Energy Star qualified products reduce energy usage and carbon emissions

In keeping with Panasonic's eco-ideas initiative, Panasonic System Networks Company of America announced at ISC West that its Lite-ray POS Workstation has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) prestigious Energy Star qualification.

"Restaurant owners and operators can now realise energy cost savings while helping preserve the environment with the Energy Star-qualified Lite-ray workstation," said Sam Miyakodani, Group Manager of Panasonic System Networks Company of America. "Panasonic is proud to deliver eco-friendly solutions that provide measurable ROI as well."

Energy Star is a joint programme of the EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy helping to save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Energy Star qualified products reduce energy usage and carbon emissions, thereby helping the environment and providing cost savings to users.

Panasonic's Lite-ray POS Workstation delivers reliable POS functionality at an affordable price. Based on the design of the Stingray workstation, Lite-ray is purpose-built with a fan-less design featuring fewer moving parts. Its Intel Atom Processor is power-optimised to deliver more robust performance per watt and the open architecture supports Microsoft Windows including both standard and embedded platforms, along with Linux, which make it more ideal for retail market operations. Lite-ray is backed by a three-year warranty and additionally offers a full complement of options to further customise the POS solution, including a RAID data back-up and recovery system.
