The ultra short throw lens enables large image projection without casting shadows onto the screen or dazzling the presenter

Panasonic has announced the world’s shortest throw interchangeable lens for 3-chip DLP™ projectors at infoComm 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The ultra short throw lens enables large image projection without casting shadows onto the screen or dazzling the presenter, and is expected to be used in leisure and rental and staging applications.

Hartmut Kulessa, European Marketing Manager at Panasonic, said, “The ET-D75LE90 saves backstage space and helps system integration in larger venues.

The new lens is compatible with all Panasonic 3-chip DLP™ projectors, including the flag-ship 20,000 lumens PT-DZ21K.”

The lens means a 200 inch diagonal image can be now reproduced from around five feet away from the screen. Its throw ratio is 0.36:1 in WUXGA/1080p, 0.39:1 in SXGA+ and 0.40:1 in WXGA.

“We brought the world’s first short throw lens for 1chip DLP projectors to the market and the new 3-chip projector lens will allow customers to solve layout issues and create new solutions which would previously have been impossible,” added Hartmut Kulessa.

Panasonic also unveiled the world’s first 3 WUXGA High-Brightness Portable LCD Projector, the PT-VZ570.

During the show, Panasonic gave a demonstration of a surveillance control room on its booth which showcased its latest video wall direct-LED backlight display, the TH-55LFV70. The Full-HD 50-inch TH-50LFE7 and 42-inch TH-42LFE7 professional displays were also introduced at the show, both are aimed at digital signage applications and mid-sized conference rooms, complementing the previously introduced TH-65LFE7, 65-inch display.
