Mitsubishi Electric, a world leader in the innovative design and manufacture of advanced security solutions, once again exhibited at this year's IFSEC.

At the exhibition, Mitsubishi launched a new 16 channel digital recorder the DX-TL4516E and previewed a 9 channel version the DX-TL4509E, which will be launched later this year.   Also on display were examples from the current range of DVR’s.

Mitsubishi’s range of DX-TL recorders have all been designed as fully featured, reliable, solutions that are suitable for a range of applications such as retail, banking, corporate and the public sector; all come with a 24 month warranty and support from Mitsubishi’s in-house technical and service team. 

The new DX-TL4516E comes equipped with many of the advanced features of Mitsubishi’s current and highly regarded 16 channel DVR the DX-TL5000E.  These include triplex functionality and built in motion detection, as well as a dual multiplexer output that allows for the simultaneous monitoring of both live and recorded footage.  Furthermore the DX-TL4516E uses the latest JPEG2000 compression technology for high quality, fine detailed pictures and comes with a built in USB, CD-R/RW and DVD-R/RW drive; a unique and advanced feature in today’s market.  This new recorder comes as standard with 1 400Gb HDD, and has the option to add an additional internal drive as well as another 7Tb externally.

The DX-TL4509E a 9-channel version was previewed at the show and will be available in the UK later this year.  Fully featured with similar functionality as the DX-TL4516E and DX-TL5000E, the DX-TL4509E comes as standard with 400Gb of HDD.  There is a slot for an additional bay, which allows an extra HDD to be added and if more memory is required, this can be added externally upto 7Tb.

Also on display was the DX-TL5000E, Mitsubishi’s current advanced 16 channel digital recorder that utilises JPEG2000 technology to ensure high picture quality and efficient image compression.   It also boasts a recording rate of up to 200 pictures per second and a viewing rate of 800 pictures per second.  The DX-TL5000E can be equipped with up to 3 internal hard disks, while optional DX-ZD5UE HDD extension units can house 2 hard disks each (the DX-TL5000E can accommodate a maximum of 7 DX-ZD5UE HDD extension units), therefore maximising storage capacity upto 35Tb.

There were also examples from the current range of DX-TLs which will include:

  • DX-TL2500E – A 16 channel DVR which is available in 250Gb, 500Gb or 750Gb internal memory and has the option to add 12Tb externally.
  • DX-TL950E – A 9 channel DVR that is available with either 250Gb or 500Gb of HDD capacity, and the facility to export data to a CompactFlash™ card
  • DX-NT400E – A 4 channel DVR that can accommodate upto 2 hard drives, as well as having a removable and interchangeable HDD caddy enabling recordings to be removed and stored for evidence purposes.

Mitsubishi’s most advanced security solution the DS-3000RT digital system was also on display.  This is the ultimate in digital recording and can be created specifically around the users needs.  It can have storage capacity upto 32Tb and networking capability, providing remote access.  Superior picture quality is achievable with each camera capable of capturing 25 pps without the loss of data in real time recording and the MPEG2 compression method allows upto 800 images per second.  The system provides flexible, reliable and consistent surveillance to suit any large networked security application.
