Mirasys Ltd., a leading supplier of advanced open platform Video Management and Visual Intelligence Solutions, launches the Mirasys 7 VMS (Video Management System), an all-new solution for surveillance sites of all sizes and needs. The numerous new features, innovations, and enhancements in Mirasys 7 can be distilled in one word: Ease.
“We have made extensive additions to the functionality of our user interfaces, especially Spotter, with the aim of creating the most versatile and easy-to-use interface for the surveillance markets. Its new features include alarm switches – or I/O, audio, and enhanced alarm support, raising it up as our most recommended user interface for all surveillance needs,” says Petri Bäckström, Security Product Line Director at Mirasys Ltd.
In Mirasys 7, Spotter’s easy-to-use interface allows users to easily switch between devices, access microphones and communication devices, and browse alarms faster than ever before – making, for example, the use of two-way-audio, alarms, I/O controls, camera tours, and USB joysticks extremely efficient.
Mirasys Agile Virtual Matrix (AVM) – introduced in Nov 2013 – is the perfect solution for surveillance and commercial centres, multi-office environments, and centralized surveillance for distributed sites. Now fully integrated with Mirasys Spotter, AVM combines the feature rich environment offered by Mirasys VMS software with an extremely flexible interface for controlling an unlimited number of surveillance monitors in a customisable environment. “Mirasys AVM is extremely flexible and configurable: monitor configurations, layouts, and event handling can be tailored according to any surveillance system’s individual needs. AVM is fully Mirasys Spotter compatible. This combination is one of the easiest-to-use and most intuitive video matrix on the market making it surely the number one choice for demanding surveillance centre needs,” says Mr. Bäckström.
Mirasys open platform approach is visible in the renewed plugin control and management in Mirasys 7. Hence integrating third party applications and making other additions and add-ons for Spotter is easier than ever. This will lengthen the life cycle of the customer’s VMS solution when it can be modified and scaled to meet customer’s changing needs.
Mirasys 7 has seen a number of other enhancements and tweaks as well. For example, Failover servers bring an extra layer of safety and redundancy to video surveillance by ensuring that a server breakdown does not affect the overall operation of the system. A dedicated failover server can replace any active recording server in the system within minutes (configurable) of server breakdown. The broken server can then be replaced and added as a new failover server, while the server that automatically took its place can continue as a recording server, providing minimal downtime for the system.
“We have challenged ourselves to continuously improve customer experience in every new release we bring to market. In Mirasys 7, ease of usage decreases training costs and increases the effectiveness of VMS system for the customer. Open platform and scalability provide cost efficient options for the customer in case customer’s future needs change, and increased reliability even in exceptional situations will bring peace of mind. The new solution will be available from 31st of March,” says Petri Bäckström.
