The redevelopment at API has seen the opening of a dedicated visitors’ suite

API Holographics, one of the world’s leading providers of holographic-based security solutions, has completed the first phase of redevelopment at its site in Salford.

The £3million investment into the high-security manufacturing site follows on from last year’s joint venture business launch API Optix s.r.o., which increases the high quality origination options available to API’s customers.

The latest investment has seen further upgrade of API’s security. The company, which already holds the CWA 14641:2009 accreditation for ‘security management system for security printing’, has updated and enhanced the site’s physical security to boost confidence in the supply chain for API customers and end users.

In addition, the redevelopment of the Holographics headquarters has seen the opening of a dedicated visitors’ suite. This impressive design area includes showroom, meeting areas and individual design stations. Each project handled by API is an individually created solution, bespoke to the Customer’s security requirements, making this an ideal place for Customers to meet API’s design and technical experts.

The improved facilities offer an ideal forum to discuss the optimum holographic solutions for a variety of security document needs.

For administration staff, a new suite of management and administration offices has been created and, complementing these, the manufacturing side has also received significant investment with the purchase of a state-of-the-art demetallising line.

Custom built to API’s specification, the demetalliser and its supporting production line is one of the most advanced in the world and enhances the company’s capabilities for financial and fiscal security applications. This has been the springboard for a full review of current machinery, which has been recalibrated to maximise and streamline production.

Speaking on the investments, API Holographics Managing Director, Heath Thomas, said: “The result of this investment is very impressive, both in terms of the aesthetics and Customer facilities, as well as our production capabilities and efficiencies. The transformation in both the manufacturing and administration sides of the Salford site is further testament to API’s commitment to continual improvement and innovation.

“Our professional, world-class service and capacity for design, origination and end-to-end manufacturing is now reflected in our office space, designed to facilitate greater interaction with Customers, matched by the improved capability of our production plant. The investments made in equipment and security will further support API Holographics’ reputation for quality and consistency, reassuring Customers and end users that continual improvements are being made to support their businesses.”
