SMI also received Lenel factory certification

Smart Media Innovations (SMI) recently announced that it has received Lenel factory certification and joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Programme (OAAP). SMI’s Mobile Verification product suite interfaces with the OnGuard access control system and adds a mobile dimension to OnGuard -allowing a handheld device to be used as a reader and to display cardholder details.

“SMI has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to OnGuard. This certification allows a handheld device to behave as a normal reader would, including displaying the mobile reader status and supporting Global Anti-Passback. Mustering is also supported, allowing mustering to take place in a site remote to the main location,” said Gidon Lissai, director of strategic alliances, Lenel Systems. “We look forward to SMI’s continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Programme.”

“Users can now extend the use of OnGuard beyond physical boundaries, allowing access control or mustering to be carried out at the point it is needed – rather than the point it can be wired to. This comes with the added benefit of being able to display any of the data held about a cardholder on the mobile device. Demonstration videos of the system are available on our website, www.smi-global.net,” states Dick Clark, co-founder, SMI.
