Now, for any job up to 96 doors, you can streamline your installation with DMP’s 734 Wiegand Modules, the Altronix power supply, and power controller — all in one secure enclosure.

Over the last few months, Altronix Corporation and Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) have been discussing a way to better serve mutual customers who have asked for a way to centralise the power supply and sub-assemblies for access control.

Trove access and power integration solutions

Altronix is a global provider of power and transmission solutions for professional security, surveillance/IT, access control and fire applications. Like Altronix, DMP is further also a U.S. manufacturer, and it specialises in designing and building electronic burglary, fire, and access products. We are honoured to be among the preferred access control suppliers for the Altronix Trove"

In response to their customers’ requests, the two manufacturers are pleased to announce that Altronix has expanded its offering of Trove Access and Power Integration Solutions to include an enclosure and backplane that accommodates DMP access control products.

We are honoured to be among the preferred access control suppliers for the Altronix Trove,” says DMP’s Director of Product Management & Support, Brad Tucker. “We try to do what our customers ask of us.

 Altronix-DMP collaboration

In working to achieve the same positive results, we both want to give our customers the best solution available,” adds Altronix National Sales Engineer, Ronnie Pennington. “We have many mutual customers who’ve requested us to add DMP to our integration solutions, and we take pride in offering solutions to those customers that make their jobs easier.

Depending on your requirements, the Altronix enclosures for DMP modules are available in two sizes: the Trove2, designed for larger applications, or the Trove1, a more compact version for smaller applications. Each of these have customised backplanes to accommodate DMP’s 734 Wiegand Interface Module or 734N Network Wiegand Interface Module, giving you the powerful built-in access control capability of DMP panels. Trove supports a wide range of options for scalable applications, and because the backplane is removable, you can easily configure and test power prior to on-site installation. Our dealers have always had the flexibility of mounting our 734 access control modules at the door or in a central location"

Access control modules

When it comes to meeting customers’ needs, it’s all about giving them options,” Tucker adds. “Our dealers have always had the flexibility of mounting our 734 access control modules at the door or in a central location. Now, in cases where they’re replacing an existing system, this allows them to accommodate many of our access control modules, all in a secure enclosure.

It broadens our solution, particularly for applications of 16 or more doors,” adds Trey Parsons, co-owner of Integrated Security Solutions, LLC. “This will make it easy to clean an installation up by replacing several enclosures with just one. There’s no need to string cable from box to box — everything is centralised in one enclosure. As a result, your installations will go more quickly, and your customers will appreciate the fact that you’ve taken up less wall space.

By taking the “all-in-one” approach, troubleshooting is also easier, Parsons adds. “There’s only one enclosure to open up when you need to diagnose problems. It’s easy to trace all of the wiring and see how the installation is done.

Parsons has served customers using Altronix and DMP products for more than 20 years. “We’ve always had great results with Altronix,” he says. “The Trove enclosure compliments an already powerful product from DMP to allow a cleaner overall finished solution.

Altronix has further simplified the process by offering a free online Trove System Design Tool. This is helpful in designing a system with DMP access controllers, integrating Altronix power supply/chargers and accessories.
