The Columbus, Ohio branch of Allied Universal®, the world’s renowned global security and facility services firm, has launched its first Project THERE volunteer event. Employees assisted the Near Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program (NNEMAP) food pantry at its first ‘A Taste of German Village and the Brewery District’ function on July 14, 2023.

This was a great opportunity for Allied Universal professionals to have a direct impact on the well-being of their neighbours and community overall,” said Brian Webber, Allied Universal President of the Midwest region, adding “Allied Universal’s Midwest region is proud to continue the Project THERE volunteer program in giving back to our local communities.

The volunteer event began with a ‘giving drive’ at the NNEMAP facility

The volunteer event began with a ‘giving drive’ at the NNEMAP facility, where members of the community had an opportunity to drop off donations of toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, bath tissue and feminine hygiene products for locals in need.

Following the ‘giving drive’, Allied Universal Columbus branch employees assisted with transporting and setting up tents, tables and chairs for the ‘A Taste of German Village and the Brewery District’ community fundraiser.

More than 13 local restaurants participated in the US$ 100 per plate fundraiser. This event helped raise funds needed to support the operations of NNEMAP and its ability to supply services to the community.

Food items and hygiene products delivered to NNEMAP

In addition, more than 30 branch employees delivered non-perishable food items and hygiene products collected by the Allied Universal Ohio branch to the NNEMAP food bank.

By partnering with local organisations, Project THERE offers Allied Universal team members a chance to make a difference in the community in which they live and work.

Giving back to a community where we serve our employees and clients was heartwarming"

Giving back to a community where we serve our employees and clients was heartwarming and gave us an opportunity to embody our Allied Universal core value, There for You!” said Liz Abbitt, Allied Universal’s Regional Vice President.

Giving back to the community

Seeing the team rally around an organisation that stands for such a great cause makes me proud as an Allied Universal leader,” said Jessica Adkins, Allied Universal’s General Manager.

This hit me on a personal level, at times in life, I too have been down and out and in need of assistance and was grateful to pay it forward,” said Jeff Brookes, Allied Universal’s Client Manager.

Allied Universal and NNEMAP partnership

Working with Roy Clark Director of NNEMAP has given me a greater understanding of all the work that goes into giving back to the community,” said Kristen Dunham, Allied Universal Administration, adding “I look forward to expanding our relationship and assisting more in the future.

There for You! could not be obtained without giving service to others,” said Nathan Baker, Allied Universal’s Operations Manager.
