Alertus Technologies, a pioneer in mass notification enterprise solutions, is pleased to announce that it has received its Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 2572 certification. The UL 2572 certification was specifically developed in 2011 to evaluate the performance of a Mass Notification System (MNS).

UL’s industry standards

To qualify for a UL 2572 certification, the MNS is required to pass a series of rigorous tests based on UL’s industry standards for electronic devices and components. In particular, the MNS should be able to function successfully within 10 seconds after being deployed for an emergency situation.

Alertus is the first unified mass notification provider to become UL 2572 certified for its Alertus Emergency Mass Notification System, a facility-based, mass notification and communications solution that allows organisations to send critical information to all integrated alerting endpoints.

Emergency notification solution

This is a major milestone for our organisation and the industry,” said Jason Volk, CEO and Founder of Alertus. “Being the first enterprise class system to meet UL’s new mass notification performance and reliability standards is a testament to the work and dedication of our engineers to create and continually advance exceptional life-saving alert notification solutions.”

Abed Yassine, Engineering Product Manager in Hardware for Alertus, added, “Alertus is the trusted emergency notification solution for more than 2,000 global enterprise institutions—both large and small. This UL 2572 achievement further speaks to the reliability and performance of the Alertus System.”
