With over 1,300 exhibitors, DSEi is the world's largest integrated defence and security expo
The Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEi 2011) is the world's largest fully integrated defence and security exhibition. DSEi provides a unique platform to present your latest equipment and systems to the world's defence and security industry. DSEi provides you with the opportunity to develop international relationships and generate new business opportunities with companies of all sizes. The exhibition is scheduled to take place in the ExCeL, London, United Kingdom 13 to 16 September 2011. More than 1280 exhibitors from over 98 countries, including major defence giants with large country group pavilions exhibited at DSEI 2009. DSEi 2011 will be even bigger.

South Africa will be participating officially at the DSEI 2011 in the form of a National Pavilion. The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), will be represented by Lucas Ndema: Director: Aerospace and Defence and Samuel Maboane, Assistant Director: Export Marketing. the dti has booked a total of 459 square meters space on which 23 approved exhibitors will display their defence related products.

The following South African products will be showcased at DSEI 2011:

- Head tracker system, HSNE virtual private network system, cots modules.
- Tactical data terminal, software defined modem unit.

- Integrated Naval IFF system, UAV data and video link(MCS), UAV data and video link (CBA).
- Small caliber ammunition, medium caliber ammunition.

- Bullet proof vest, reflective jacket, reflective vests, coveralls, anti riot gear, flight suits.
- Radio Tracker System.
- Pre-fragmented a/a bombs, fuzes for a/c bombs, fuzes for ordnance, fuze setters.

During the week long exhibition of the capabilities from around the world, the dti will on the 14th September 2011 give a presentation during the Innovation Showcasing seminar and later during the day, the Aerospace, Maritime and Defence Industry Association (AMD) will be launching the 12th edition of the South African Defence Industry Directory (SADID).
