New software allows full demo of hybrid video recorder SISTORE MX including latest feature update
Product Profile
Siemens Building Technologies has produced new demo software for the SISTORE MX range of digital video recorders which allows the customer to operate and test a fully functioning demonstration on a standard PC or laptop - including the improved features and functionalities of the latest SISTORE MX version 2.70.
Need for hybrid systems
The numbers of hybrid applications using existing analogue cameras with the possibility to expand the system adding IP cameras, and with recording possible for both analogue and IP simultaneously, is growing all the time.
For this reason continual software development is of the highest importance for Siemens, to continue to provide customers features that fit ever-changing security situations. Part of this development process now sees the SISTORE MX hybrid recording system being enhanced with great new features and functionalities, with no extra cost to the customer to upgrade.
Improved features and functionalities
To enable customers to get the best usage from their networks, dual encoding is now supported with two compression formats: MJPEG most suitable for recording individual images and MPEG4 for fast and efficient network transmission.
With the continual market development of megapixel cameras, SISTORE MX now records and displays megapixel IP cameras in both live and playback mode. The list of supported IP cameras has once again grown, with the new software version, all Siemens models also being compatible.
The system is already certified by the German banking 'UVV Kassen', however new features specifically for use in banks include enhancements of the data interface, which is used for the integration of ATMs amongst other things, to allow better access to relevant data. Furthermore, the integration of EC card readers, for example, for giving access to a bank foyer is also possible, along with further monitoring functions.
To enable customers to best view their sites, support for two monitors showing dual video image displays with site map function is now fully supported. This function can be performed both locally or remotely via the included RemoteView (for use on a PC) or WebView (via Internet Explorer or Firefox) software - Windows Vista is also supported.
Free version of fully functioning demonstration software
Sven Giesecke, Siemens Building Technologies, Digital Recording Specialist, comments, "The SISTORE MX software is really easy to use and we want many people to test it and see themselves. We therefore decided to demonstrate this with a fully functioning demo which allows potential customers to ‘try before they buy'." The demo software can be easily downloaded by clicking here.
