Innovative “answers for infrastructure” for Siemens at Essen 2008
Siemens took the opportunity at Security Essen to show the latest developments in their 3 security product lines, as well as focusing on the interoperability approach that Siemens has adopted to provide innovative and comprehensive answers to the security problems faced by businesses today.Access controlThe full SiPass range of access control products and systems was on show. Highlights were the latest versions of SiPass Entro MP6.0 and SiPass integrated MP2.4. SiPass Entro MP6.0 provides a number of exciting new features, including online support for wireless RF door units and the ability to design and print photo ID cards. SiPass integrated MP2.4 extends the boundaries of access control through improved interoperability, new advanced access control functionality and support for the latest IT technologies. The new market package includes a new cost-competitive ACC-Lite with full ACC functionality, Pharma 21 CFR Part 11 technical compliance audit by an independent consultant, and advanced reporting functionality that puts the power in the hands of the user.Video surveillance The "SISTORE 3rd Generation" range was a highlight at Essen - the first products to benefit from the technology partnership with "Texas Instruments". This 3rd generation brings a significant enhancement in performance, employing the latest Da Vinci series of DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) from Texas Instruments.The new SISTORE MX NVS software is based on a Client/Server architecture with free SISTORE MX RemoteView for the configuration of complex system solutions. It also supports 4-monitor operation and the full range of Siemens IP cameras. Siemens also showed their latest enhancements in Video Content Analytics. These Algorithms will run on the latest SISTORE CX platform that has now also grown hybrid and will support MPEG4 network camera recording.The prototype of the new IP colour PTZ dome that offers VGA resolution MPEG4/MJPEG streaming delivering crisp video images was on the stand. The integrated pan/tilt mechanism allows comfortable tracking of moving objects and people and precise positioning to pre-defined positions in the scene in case of an alarm.In addition, a complete IP camera range was shown, that supports Megapixel resolution delivering more image details. The range includes standard camera models for colour and day-night plus a colour fixed dome model allowing for easy and fast installation.Intrusion The Intrunet™ product portfolio was on show, including the SI and SPC series and the comprehensive range of motion and seismic detectors.The highlight of the intrusion portfolio was the new range of Intrunet SI series system components: the stylish new SAK94 and SAK84 keypads with integrated tag reader and audio functionality and the slim line key switch and annunciation modules, nominated for the Intruder Alarm Product of the Year Award at IFSEC 2008. A further highlight was the range of Intrunet GM7xx seismic detectors, specially designed for round-the-clock monitoring of a wide range of safes, vaults and ATMs against theft and vandalism. Siemens' in-depth knowledge of sophisticated motion detection technologies was evident through a comprehensive range of single and dual technology motion detectors. Also on show was the forthcoming Intrunet SPC series intrusion systems along with the IC60 series, designed by Siemens specifically for the home and small business environments.
