Sony to lead the way for hybrid solutions at IFSEC 2009

IP-based video security has many advantages over traditional analogue systems - including higher resolution, greater intelligence and easier, more flexible installation. Yet 70% of the market has still not made the move across. In light of current economic conditions, this is hardly surprising. Organisations need to minimise costs and get as much out of their existing investments as possible - so the benefits of IP-based video security will have to wait. Or will they?Sony believes that now is the perfect time to Go Hybrid. To start your migration to IP without throwing away your analogue systems. To integrate old and new in a hybrid platform that protects your existing investments, while also ensuring fewer false alarms, more efficient monitoring and clearer imagery. Thanks to Sony's unique hybrid video technology - which is designed specifically for security - you can integrate any combination of analogue and IP equipment, from both Sony and other manufacturers. This will help optimise your video security solution today, in the most cost-effective way - while also preparing for full IP migration further down the line. Choose security cameras that are right for your specific needs. Sony has a comprehensive line-up of models, covering analogue, IP and the latest megapixel cameras, all of which provide excellent image quality in all lighting conditions. Chose from fixed, mini-dome or speed-dome designs, and select either standard or high resolution models to match your price/performance requirements. We've got every option covered.

Sony introduces powerful new additions to its network mini-dome camera line-up, with the SNC-DF80P, which supports  "Intelligent Video Analysis".  This efficient and intelligent processing method based on the Sony DEPA platform can provide greater operational efficiency and a high level of security. The SNC-DF80P incorporates advanced compression technologies to transmit image data in three different formats: JPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264.  This camera also employs robust detection methods - Intelligent Motion Detection (IMD) and Intelligent Object Detection (IOD) to maximise the efficiency of the monitoring system. For easy setup, this cameras incorporate the Sony patented "Ball-Joint Lens Mount" mechanism providing quick and easy adjustment of the camera's viewing angle during installation. The SNC-DF80P is designed to be used both indoors and outdoors and features a vandal- and weather-resistant body.  This camera incorporates an advanced 1/3-type CCD with SuperExwave™ technology, providing extremely high sensitivity levels and producing clear images. Also, designed for 24/7 operation, the camera incorporates a Day/Night function, providing detailed images even in low-lighting conditions. With other convenient features such as a Voice Alert function, Date/Time Superimposition, and Privacy Zone Masking, these Sony intelligent mini-dome cameras are ideal for a wide variety of surveillance and monitoring applications.

Sony announced extensive range of security cameras at IFSEC 2008

At IFSEC 2008, Sony unveiled no less than nine new cameras to the security market.  From IP to analogue, indoor to outdoor, minidome to box cameras, and now megapixel models, Sony is able to offer its customers a choice of products to suit any application. "Building on the success of Sony's existing security portfolio, the additional models have been introduced to afford customers and specialist Sony dealers even greater choice to suit their individual needs," said Simon Nash, Senior European Marketing Manager, NVM/CCTV.  "These latest models have been designed to be accessible and scalable, and created specifically for security applications." Sony launched the SNC-DM110 and its robust sister model, the SNC-DM160, to introduce Megapixel resolution to Sony's existing range of intelligent IP mini dome cameras.  In addition to this, the SNC-CM120 is Sony's first C-Mount security box camera with Megapixel resolution.  All three provide high-quality imaging and sensitivity whilst utilising Sony's intelligent Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture (DEPA) technology.  These models are based on the company's latest ExwavePro CCD that has been designed specifically for IP Cameras and combines Progressive Scan technology and Complementary Colour filter to dramatic affect.  The SNC-DM160 model features a built-in heater and comes with a vandal-resistant polycarbonate dome and aluminium die-cast housing to offer IP66 ingress protection. Another addition to Sony's Vandal Resistant mini dome range was the IP66 analogue SSC-CD79 camera.  This camera is based on a 1/3 type CCD with Sony's unique DynaView technology, offering a wide dynamic range for high sensitivity. Building on the success of Sony's first intelligent network speed dome, the SNC-RX550, launched in 2007, Sony further boosted the line-up with the introduction of two Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) IP cameras.  The entry-level model SNC-RX530 is based on a 1/4 type Exwave HAD® CCD and provides an 18x optical zoom.  The new high-end model, Sony's new SNC-RX570, features a 1/4 type Exwave HAD® CCD with DynaView wide dynamic range technology and a 36x zoom lens.  All of the models in this range combine speed dome capability with extremely high image quality, DEPA intelligence, dual encoding and three compression formats, and privacy zone masking.
