Hanwha Techwin America Techwin introduces new WiseNetIII 2MP Full HD network vandal and extreme weather resistant dome camera

Samsung Techwin’s new WiseNetIII 2MP Full HD network vandal-resistant dome camera, the SNV-6084, is designed to work effectively in severe weather conditions as well as being resistant to physical attack. The SNV-6084, which is IK10 vandal resistant and weatherproof to IP66, can withstand high temperature variations of -50°C to +55°C, making it an ideal video surveillance solution in even the most challenging environmental conditions. The low price point of the SNV-6084 makes it ideal for video surveillance projects such as airports, ports, car parks, trading estates and open public spaces where there is a need to capture evidence grade images from a large number of cameras. Both the SNV-6084’s camera and its in-built heater can be powered by standard PoE (Power over Ethernet), negating the need for the installation of separate cables for power and image transmission, or additional costly midspans.  Equipped with a 3-8.5mm motorised varifocal lens, the ONVIF conformant SNV-6084 is a true Day/Night camera with an infra-cut filter. It is designed to capture high quality colour images at an ultra-fast frame rate of 60fps at 1080p and features enhanced Wide Dynamic Range which with performance greater than 120dB can accurately produce images in scenes that simultaneously contain very bright and very dark areas. In November 2013, Samsung Techwin will further broaden its WiseNetIII 2MP Full HD network range with the introduction of the SNV-5084 vandal and extreme weather resistant dome camera. Equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera, the SNV-5084 will share all the key features of the SNV-6084 which include bandwidth friendly H.264 compression with the option to also use MJPEG compression, and a multi-crop feature enabling users to highlight and crop up to nine areas of interest in order for the camera to only send the images within that area at a preferred resolution and frame rate, enabling a much smarter and efficient use of the available network bandwidth. Other key features include Digital Image Stabilization (DIS), which negates the effects of vibration, and Defog which can be used to help improve the clarity of images captured in poor weather conditions such as rain, smoke or fog. A built-in SD/SDHC/SDXC memory slot provides the opportunity for authorised users to remotely access and download video that has been recorded onto a memory card. The SNV-5084 and SNV-6084 will both offer Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) which can assist in the detection of activity by various means, such as tripwire and enter/exit direction, object appear/disappear and ‘tampering’, which creates an alert if paint is sprayed on a camera lens or there is unauthorised movement of a camera away from its usual field of view. Alternatively, the motion detection technology built into the WiseNetIII DSP chipset can greatly reduce the false alarm rate by learning what is the normal motion of the scene and ignoring, for example, the fluttering leaves of trees. The SNV-6084 and SNV-5084 join 14 other camera models that incorporate the WiseNetIII DSP chipset. These have been developed by Samsung Techwin as a result of a market research programme which identified what users and installers felt were the key ‘must haves’ in order for high definition IP network cameras to automatically become the preferred choice when a new video surveillance system was being specified, or an existing system was being upgraded. As is the case with all Samsung professional security products, the SNV-6084 and SNV-5084 will be supplied with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd, including free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty. Samsung’s professional security products are widely accessible across Europe via an extensive network of distributors. Hanwha Techwin America’s new WiseNetIII 2MP Full HD (1080P) network camera range on show at IFSEC 2013

The eight new WiseNetIII camera models have been developed by Samsung as a result of a market research programme which identified what users and installers felt were the key ‘must haves’ in order for high definition IP network cameras to automatically become the preferred choice when a new video surveillance system was being specified, or an existing system was being upgraded. “Price is always an important consideration and it was also not a surprise to learn that customers wanted to see further improvements in image quality particularly in low light conditions,” said Tim Biddulph, IP Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “Also high up on the wish list was smarter utilisation of network bandwidth and the need for cameras to be more installer friendly by making them easier to install and configure.” Samsung’s response to the feedback from its existing and potential customers has been to pack the new models, with a long list of new technically advanced features, many of which ensure that superb quality images can be captured and recorded regardless of the lighting or environmental conditions.  The new Full HD cameras and domes can capture high quality images when the lighting level is as low as 0.01 Lux, and have an ultra fast frame rate of 60fps at 1080p which results in latency free clear images. The enhanced Wide Dynamic Range built into the WiseNetIII DSP chipset, with performance greater than 100dB, can accurately produce images in scenes that simultaneously contain very bright and very dark areas. P-iris technology optimises the iris when multiple lighting conditions exist within a single field of view to create images with better clarity and depth of field.  A Defog feature can be used to help improve the clarity of images captured in poor weather conditions such as rain or fog, whilst Digital Image Stabilization (DIS), previously only seen in analogue chipsets, negates the effects of a camera shaking due to high winds or building vibration. A Simple Focus feature, which is built into most of the models, automatically focuses the camera. All that is needed is one simple push of a button on the back of the camera to achieve optical focus. Collectively the eight new models are designed to offer a solution for every possible type of application. Samsung’s stand at IFSEC will be divided into various vertical market zones, such as retail, education, commercial and transportation, to allow visitors to identify the best combination of WiseNetIII cameras and domes to meet the requirements of specific projects. “Within each zone we will be able to demonstrate the key features of a specific camera model or recording device and how it can best help provide the solution to monitor what may be a range of activities within that market sector,” said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “In retail, for example, there are many different reasons why a video surveillance system may be deployed such as the need to deter and detect shop theft, ensure health & safety compliance and record activity in car parks, delivery bays and at the point of sale.” The eight new WiseNetIII models are: SNB-6004 - Bodied camera with Simple Focus, P-Iris & day/ night operation. SNB-6003 - Bodied camera with P-Iris & colour/ mono operation. SND-6084 - Internal dome camera with Simple Focus, motorized varifocal lens & day/ night operation SND-6083 - Internal dome camera with varifocal lens & colour/ mono operation SNV-6012M - Vandal IP66 flat dome for use on buses, trains and other means of transport. SND-6084R - Internal dome camera with Simple Focus, motorised varifocal lens, day/ night operation & IR illuminators. SNO-6084R - Bullet IP66 camera with Simple Focus, motorised varifocal lens, day/ night operation & IR illuminators. SNV-6084R - Vandal IP66 dome camera with Simple Focus, motorised varifocal lens, day/ night operation & IR illuminators. As is the case with all Samsung professional security products, all of the cameras and domes in the WiseNetIII range are  supplied with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd.

The Samsung SNV-5010 vandal resistant network dome camera has been approved for use by the European railway industry. Tests carried out by two separate testing houses, which included the ability to withstand extreme vibrations, has resulted in certificates being issued which verify that the SNV-5010 vandal resistant network dome camera is robustly able to operate effectively within the demanding conditions of railway trains and stations.TUV SUD of Germany carried out testing of the SNV-5010 to ensure it was suitable for use at railway stations by complying with the EN-50121 standard, whilst SGS Korea Co Ltd in a separate test was able to issue a certificate of compliance with EN-50155 standard confirming the SNV-5010's ability to cope with the rigorous conditions on board trains."This is an important landmark for Samsung as very few cameras have been able to meet the required standards of the European railway industry and in particular prove they have the capability to reliably operate on board moving trains," said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. "The SNV-5010 is an excellent example of our ability to provide  railway companies and organisations with robust and reliable video  surveillance solutions which, although keenly priced,  are packed full of  technically advanced features offering tangible benefits to railway and trained operators."The SNV-5010 joins a long list of Samsung professional security products,333333 which have been tested and certificated to the EN-50121 standard. The vandal resistant and fully weatherproofed 1.3 Megapixel Samsung SNV-5010 dome camera measures just 100 x 115 x 42mm and is designed specifically for environments where there may be limited space. It utilises progressive scan technology to capture sharp, high-quality video of moving subjects and features licence-free Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) which has an optical tripwire and enter/exit direction detection capability, as well as an Appear/Disappear function to detect the movement of objects. IVA also has a scene change tampering function, which creates an alert if, for example, paint is sprayed on a camera lens or there is unauthorised movement of a camera away from its usual field of view.

Hanwha Techwin America 7002 Professional series of 3 Megapixel network cameras and domes
Hanwha Techwin America 7002 Professional series of 3 Megapixel network cameras and domes

All models in the Samsung 7002 Professional series are able to capture images at a broad range of resolutions from 320 x 180 to 2048 x 1536 and include Full HD 1080p resolution displayed in 16:9 format. An advanced Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) feature ensures that everything in a scene can be clearly seen, even when images contain both very bright and very dark areas, whilst Progressive Scan technology negates motion blur and ensures sharp edges on moving subjects and vehicles. “The specifications for the new 7002 Professional series take into account the requirements of end-users who want a lot more from a high definition camera other than evidence grade images, and they also reflect the needs of installers,” said Tim Biddulph, IP Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “A Simple Focus feature, for example, automatically focuses the camera. All that is needed is one simple push of a button on the back of the camera to achieve optical focus. This will obviously result in reduced installation time. However, there is an additional advantage offered by this very clever feature in that when the camera mode changes from colour to monochrome with the help of the camera’s true Day & Night function, the Simple Focus automatically optimizes the back focus required for clear sharp images.” The 7002 Professional series is supported by many of the leading Video Management Software (VMS platforms as well as Samsung’s Centralized Monitoring Software. Other key features which are common to all models include facial detection and audio detection with the use of an external microphone . Also included is Intelligent Video Analytics which provides Motion Detection, Appear/Disappear, Virtual Line/Enter/Exit detection and a camera tampering alarm function. The new cameras and domes support multi-streaming of video using either H.264 and MJPEG compression and can therefore be simultaneously used for real-time monitoring, mobile monitoring, high quality or high-efficiency recording, SD memory recording and for E-mail notification purposes.“With the launch of the 7002 Professional series and our LiteNet range of  ‘affordable’ megapixel and HD cameras and domes earlier in the year, we can now truly claim to be able to offer customers a high definition  video surveillance solution for virtually any type of project,” said Tim Biddulph. “Customers can also take advantage of the fact that both series are compatible with our recently introduced SRN-1000 network video recorder which has been designed to offer a ‘building block’ approach to the process of specifying a video storage solution.”
