Hikvision DVRs/NVRs flip-down panel helps in fast and efficient hard drive removal and installation. It saves time and efforts when installing a new hard drive as compared to the conventional installation method.
Here are the steps to replace an HDD in a conventional DVR:
- After turning the power off on the DVR, remove the screws located on the two sides of the unit
- Slide the cover off
- Disconnect the power and SATA wires
- Unscrew the hard drive from the DVR unit
- Remove the hard drive and insert the new one using the previously removed screws
- Replug the SATA wires and the power cable into the hard drive
- Once the new hard drive is installed, cover the box and refasten the screws
This entire process of removing the old HDD and inserting the new one takes around 6-7 minutes.
Now, here are the steps to replace the HDD with Hikvision flip-down panel:
- Press the two corner buttons located on the sides of the easy flip-down panel and open the front panel
- Using the handle, simply pull the hard drive out of the DVR and set it aside
- Slide the new hard drive into the DVR and close the front panel
This entire process takes less than 1 minute.
