Vicon Industries, Inc., designer and manufacturer of video surveillance and access control software, hardware and components, introduces further enhancements in the Starlight technology cameras. Vicon’s new Starlight versions of the popular V940 IP camera series produces flawless full-colour video streams in near-dark lighting conditions.

These lowlight cameras are offered in dome and bullet configurations with eye-opening ultra-high-sensitivity down to 0.002 lux (colour) and 0.0006 lux (B&W), enabling full colour images in almost full darkness when standard cameras would have switched to black-and-white. Where other cameras fail to show any image at all, Starlight cameras are still capable of delivering detailed monochrome images. This further improves video exposure quality in scenes with high contrast between bright and dark areas.

Ruggedised IP66-rated cameras

Starlight technology is recommended for areas where lighting at night is poor, such as public parking lots, recreational areas, playgrounds, banks, restaurants, night clubs and many other applications with challenging lighting conditions. Their rugged construction makes them suitable for harsh indoor or outdoor environments and are IP66 and IK10 rated.

Vicon is committed to staying at the forefront of all the newest and most innovative technologies in the surveillance industry. It has designed all of its new IP cameras for business security applications with advanced security features, addressing the unique needs of today’s complex security demands. These advanced features include smart encoding, H.265 compression, museum search capabilities and adaptive IR LED technology.

Vicon’s IP high-definition cameras, encoders and recording solutions work seamlessly with Vicon’s Valerus VMS security software and solutions from many other industry providers. These cameras are backed by ONVIF conformance (Open Network Video Interface Forum), which allows Vicon products to easily integrate with third-party systems.
