Boot Barn wanted a solution to provide higher-resolution video to streamline & to reinforce their investigative and operational efforts |
Verint® Systems Inc. recently announced that Boot Barn, America’s largest Western and Work Wear retailer, is deploying its video and situation intelligence solutions at various retail store locations to enhance operations and loss prevention efforts.

Boot Barn has been outfitting America since 1978, and today has more than 200 stores in 29 states, as well as online shopping at BootBarn.com. The Western and Work Wear retailer works diligently to ensure exceptional customer experiences, while delivering products with quality and value.
To support this focus, Boot Barn invested in a new IP video solution to increase situational awareness across its stores and reach new levels of intelligence to help optimise operations and control shrinkage. Since its investment in Verint’s solutions in 2014, Boot Barn has continued to advance its focus on the security of its customers, employees and assets, which are paramount to its ongoing success.
“Our mission is to protect our assets in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible,” says Brian Huff, Director of Loss Prevention, Boot Barn. “Our objective was to identify a new IP surveillance solution that could provide higher-resolution video to streamline, and reinforce our investigative and operational efforts. Verint has helped us in both of these critical areas.”
Helps make real-time decisions
With Verint EdgeVMS Vid-Center™, field and loss prevention leaders can view live and recorded video from their desktops to make real-time decisions quickly and efficiently. Combined with the EdgeVMS Op-Center™ diagnostic and management application, Boot Barn is able to monitor system health, gain access to firmware updates and issue alerts about potential problems. When anomalies within the surveillance system are recognised, Huff and his management team are immediately notified, enabling them to take a proactive approach to addressing issues. Verint Edge VMS Op-Center also provides Boot Barn with a high degree of control over both cameras and NVRs, which allows personnel to use the system more efficiently.
In addition, Boot Barn leverages 360-degree IP cameras from Verint partner Oncam to monitor store entrances in key locations. This technology enables broader surveillance coverage through a single camera, replacing up to six traditional cameras. These 360-degree IP cameras were ideal for Boot Barn because the devices allow LP personnel to gain expanded views above tall fixtures and displays.
“Verint worked closely with Boot Barn to help achieve its loss prevention and business goals and reach a higher level of situational awareness,” adds Steve Weller, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Verint Video and Situation Intelligence Solutions™. “Insight into daily store operations is a crucial part of the company’s overall approach to loss prevention and security. With the advanced technology solutions from Verint in place, Boot Barn is able to identify potential issues, streamline investigations, control inventory and optimise store operations more effectively and efficiently.”
