For challenging or hazardous environments, the new expanded choice of cable sheaths offers varying degrees of protection at different temperature points
UTC Fire & Security will be demonstrating the Kidde Alarmline II systems at stand G1300 at IFSEC

Kidde Alarmline® II linear heat detection system is a powerful new version of UTC’s popular and long-established Kidde Alarmline linear heat detection offering. Alarmline II offers improved installation options for challenging environments, easier configuration and alarm point location, and will be on display at the IFSEC International in London on June 21-23.

Digital and analogue systems

The Kidde Alarmline II Digital and Alarmline II Analogue systems provide extensive protection against abnormal temperature changes in a wide range of environments, including oil and gas, power generation, cold stores, car parks, tunnels, escalators and warehouses. The Alarmline II Digital linear heat detection cable can be installed in lengths of up to 3000 metres and triggers an immediate response when a specific temperature is reached. It offers the benefits of reliable detection, low initial and life cycle costs and minimal maintenance.

For challenging or hazardous environments, the new expanded choice of cable sheaths offers varying degrees of protection at different temperature points. A new location control unit for Alarmline II Digital now also allows for accurate location of the alarm point along cable lengths of up to 3,000 metres, reducing search and emergency response times to an incident. The unit is also easy to install and compatible with all conventional and addressable fire alarm control panels.

The Alarmline II Analogue system can be installed in lengths up to 500 metres and offers the benefit of two alarm states, an early warning pre-alarm and a crucial temperature alarm. The range now offers installers the choice of analogue controllers with built-in LCD displays for autonomous set-up without the need for a computer, or controllers without the LCD displays for computer set-up if preferred.

Restorable systems

The Alarmline II Analogue sensor cable and its controller are designed to continuously respond to changes in temperature, with ambient temperature compensation maintaining alarm temperature accuracy. The system is restorable, meaning that it does not necessarily have to be replaced after every incident - depending on the severity of the incident the system can often be reset and fully operational again within seconds.

It offers customers easy installation, intuitive operation and low cost of ownership.
