For those who want to eliminate the need for additional bulky power supplies as well as “Stay Connected and Take Control” of anything anywhere including their network and IP devices, VideogeniX has introduced uSwitch PoE™.

Simple to use, with no programming required and with just one input power source, uSwitch PoE (Power of Ethernet) auto senses and auto negotiates voltages from 48 volts down while providing 15.4 watts of power per port. For non PoE devices, uSwitch PoE provides a 12 VDC output. uSwitch PoE also has an IP relay that automatically reboots or controls non PoE devices.

Auto reboot feature

It’s not just a PoE switch and not just a relay,” stated Mario Costa, Executive Vice President of VideogeniX. “We have developed a PoE switch that integrates with our patented watchdog technology. So in addition to its PoE features, it also auto reboots networking devices when they lock up or go off line in the field keeping the most critical operations on line. We are proud to have engineered this new product in such a compact form that it can fit in even the smallest enclosures.”

As part of the uSwitch family of products, uSwitch PoE automatically builds a control web page, is password protected and can operate stand alone or be controlled via the Internet or a local intranet. Users have the ability to control any device over the web including modems, lights, sirens, doors, gates and cameras.

The company’s patented Auto Reboot Ping feature allows uSwitch PoE to automatically detect failed equipment and reboot or restart them independently without human intervention (even when communication to uSwitch PoE or the device has been lost). This feature saves users costly time consuming manual reboots not to mention communication outages, longer down times, loss of remote control and security, liability, and worst case, the compromise of sensitive surveillance operations.

Applications

Designed for the most critical operations and with its compact size for even the smallest enclosure, uSwitch PoE can be deployed for IP cameras, kiosks, web signs, cellular routers, servers, DSL and cable modems, RTUs, control sensors, Smart Grid and much more.

In addition to computers, uSwitch PoE is compatible with Android, iPhone, iPads, Blackberry and any other smart devices providing remote control anywhere and anytime.

The uSwitch family of products, which includes uSwitch and uSwitchPro is being used by Homeland Security, police departments, the DEA, the DOJ, transportation systems and much more.
