Choosing to employ Trigion means Knauf—a suppliers of gypsum-based building materials—didn’t have to choose between quality and quantity for its new security contract at its Sittingbourne site in Kent.

Manned guarding

Both the manned guarding hours and pay rates are being increased from its previous supplier meaning Trigion can provide a higher quality, more experienced and focused manned guarding service. The move also means Knauf’s management is free to concentrate on its product range, rather than dealing with security issues.

Neil Barham, Trigion Operations Director, Manned Guarding, said, “We are Living Wage employers and pride ourselves on recruiting and retaining quality people. The Knauf contract is a great example of a company recognising the benefits paying a higher wage brings in terms of commitment and quality.”

Protecting Sittingbourne Plasterboard Plant

Knauf’s Sittingbourne Plasterboard Plant is currently one of the fastest running production lines in Europe and has become a model for a new generation of Plasterboard Plants for the Knauf group. The Sittingbourne facility houses the UK Plaster Plant which produces a comprehensive range of gypsum plaster and jointing products.

To date, in excess of £100 million has been invested in advanced manufacturing technology at the site. Its products include flooring, dry walls, plasterboard, and ceilings.

The Trigion guards’ primary focus will be the gatehouse and weighbridge operations when the contract begins in January 2017.
