Teledyne FLIR, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated doubled its standard warranty to two years for Neutrino SWaP and Neutrino IS series designed for commercial, industrial, and defence Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and system integrators.

With an industry-pioneering cryocooler Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), Neutrino provides a cooled Mid-Wavelength Infrared (MWIR) solution for imaging systems with size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP+C) constraints.

Cooled MWIR camera

Cooled MWIR camera modules must be designed, tested, and manufactured to meet rigorous environment and reliability requirements.

Recognising that reliability and operational lifetime are predominantly determined by the lifetime of the cryocooler, Teledyne FLIR developed, tested, and manufactures the ruggedised, long-life, FL-100 linear cryocooler for its SWaP-optimised Neutrino MWIR camera modules.

High-performance imaging solution

The MTTF of Teledyne FLIR FL-100 cryocooler has increased to approximately 27,000 hours

Based on lifetime tests and Weibull analysis, the MTTF of the Teledyne FLIR FL-100 cryocooler has increased to approximately 27,000 hours, significantly reducing the cost of ownership for systems using Neutrino.

Teledyne FLIR understands the criticality of mission readiness and the importance of long, low-maintenance infrared system operation,” said Dan Walker, vice president, product management OEM, Teledyne FLIR. “An MTTF of 27,000 hours and a two-year warranty on Neutrino offers a low risk and high-performance MWIR imaging solution for integrators.”

Neutrino MWIR camera

The Neutrino MWIR camera portfolio continues to provide shortened time-to-market and reduced project risk with off-the-shelf design and delivery of High Operating Temperature (HOT) Focal Plane Array (FPA) technology in 640x512 or 1280x1024 resolution.

Teledyne FLIR can deliver high volumes of Neutrino, reducing the supply chain risk of typically the most critical component in a high-level imaging system.

Qualified technical services

The purpose-designed, factory-integrated Continuous Zoom (CZ) lenses and MWIR camera modules provide performance, cost, and schedule risk benefits unmatchable by other camera or lens suppliers.

Teledyne FLIR also provides highly-qualified technical services teams for integration support and expertise throughout the development and design cycle. Neutrino series are classified under US Department of Commerce jurisdiction as EAR 6A003.b.4.a and are not subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
