Surveon, the enterprise NVR solutions provider, introduced an advanced version for failover solution, giving partners a more reliable data protection to ensure no video loss for their projects. The new functions, including disconnected alarm and the file space sharing for both failover NVR and protected NVR, help staff to enhance their management efficiency. Moreover, the advanced failover solution allows the licence of camera to be shared with the failover ones, making it a best C/P solution for mission-critical applications.

Advanced failover solution

The existing failover solutions provide flexible system architecture to implement mutual recording backup among multiple NVRs. When using external storage, the failover NVR not only supports video recording, but also provides seamless live view and playback of the videos from the failed NVR. The protected NVR's video will be saved to the same storage where it is recorded when it fails, even the recording is taken over by failover NVR.

Workflow for Collaborative Mode and Dedicated Mode

Under this collaborative mode, both these two NVRs serve as failover NVR for each other. In addition, Surveon’s advanced failover solutions also support the failover NVR to share the same file space as protected NVR. Under this dedicated mode, whether failover NVR is working or not, the protected NVR’s video will be recorded and saved to the same location once it’s taken over by failover NVR, giving users one more option to protect their data.

Flexible and cost-effective solution

When it comes to failover license, Surveon's NVR allows the camera licences to be shared with the failover ones, resulting in a more flexible and cost-effective solution through saving licence cost. Moreover, the system will send alert when protected/failover server are disconnected so that users can quickly check and deal with the situation at once to ensure zero video loss.

The advanced failover functions will be available from NVR EC 4.0 version, which will be released respectively on NVR3000, NVR5400, and NVR7300 Series. To ensure every moment is under solid recording without interruption from any unexpected forces, Surveon failover function, allowing one or multiple NVRs to perform recording backup to each other, is an ideal solution to apply, especially on those mission critical application like casino, banking, or city surveillance.
