CLASS provides vital emergency status details to responders so they can best manage events
CLASS is proving to be a highly effective resource to issue alerts and best manage all hazards

Sielox is demonstrating a number of enhancements to its award-winning Sielox CLASS™ (Crisis Lockdown Alert Status System™) Emergency Notification and Response Solution in booth # 1245 at ASIS 2015. The unique CLASS software solution dramatically improves emergency notification and response capabilities, saving time and potentially saving lives. Initially designed for the education market, CLASS is also proving to be a highly effective resource to issue alerts and best manage all hazards, including threatening situations, inclement weather and more, on campuses, hospitals and large facilities across a range of markets.

Cost-effective and increased response accuracy

“We greatly value and seek input from customers and installers. These latest enhancements to CLASS are testimony to this, as they are based on feedback we receive from directly from the field,” said Karen Evans, CEO and President, Sielox. “By increasing the functionality, flexibility and cost-effectiveness of CLASS with scalable configurations, it is readily accessible to more schools and organisations that can benefit from a solution that greatly improves response accuracy and effectiveness, saving time and allowing responders to prioritise their actions.”

Sielox has purpose-designed CLASS to achieve three core objectives:  deliver a comprehensive alert and response solution that is easy to install and implement; provide ease of use with minimal instruction; and be affordable to accommodate a wide range of budgets and vertical markets such as education that need the solution most.

With affordability and accessibility in mind, CLASS is now available in a wider variety of new system sizes: 75, 150, 300 and 500 (specifically for commercial use). This increases the size and value of the CLASS solution without increasing the cost, which provides schools with the budget flexibility they need to implement Sielox’s advanced emergency notification and response solution.

Instant notifications

A new soft lock-down button allows alerts to be generated for inclement weather or other events, such as a nearby robbery, that could impact a school or organisation. Sielox designed this feature to be customisable to ensure that end users’ facilities are able to satisfy myriad security needs.

“By increasing the functionality, flexibility and cost-effectiveness of CLASS with scalable configurations, it is readily accessible to more schools and organisations that can benefit from a solution that greatly improves response accuracy and effectiveness, saving time and allowing responders to prioritise their actions” says Karen Evans, CEO and President, Sielox

Additional enhancements to Sielox CLASS include:

  • Command Center adds check box capability on floor plans to indicate that a room has been checked and cleared
  • Ability to re-order labels on-screen and clear out chat messaging and archive
  • Increased number of colour labels from five to eight
  • Selected functions display a red box around them to quickly indicate new sign-ons and what is currently in use
  • User-friendly infinite scrolling

Programmable colour-coded alerts

CLASS provides vital emergency status details to responders so they can best manage events. Administrators or any designated initiator can issue an emergency alert to notify responders of conditions in real time while communicating status via one of five programmable colour-coded alert levels. Occupants within the facility can then report status at their specific location enabling responders to view detailed facility maps with compiled room-by-room colour-coded conditions that update in real time as the situation evolves. A chat feature enables two-way communications between occupants and first responders to exchange detailed information or instructions. CLASS can also issue messages with response instructions specific to each alert level via email or text, and override any PC on the network to ensure the highest visibility of alert status.

For some applications, QR codes can provide a fast and convenient way to identify a particular location, such as an outdoor regrouping location. In such installations, QR codes let occupants, emergency personnel or staffers easily and quickly report status conditions for specific locations without having to struggle to identify specific locations.

Easy integration with other systems

A browser-based application that functions across LAN, Wi-Fi, WAN or high-speed cellular service for maximum accessibility, CLASS is designed for stand-alone or integrated system operation. CLASS can integrate with any system or device with an IP address providing authorised responders with the additional ability to view live cameras, change access control permissions, lock doors, and more. CLASS also provides for event archiving, with chronological event sequences that can capture who/what/when/where information, providing an audit trail to support event re-creation and review if needed.

Because CLASS is an embedded appliance, there are no annual licensing fees – further contributing to the solution’s low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
