The Sepura Malaysia Office Kuala Lumpur was privileged to host a visit from the Malaysian National Security Council and Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit on 4th October 2021.

The delegation is responsible for investigating future developments in technology for critical communications users in Malaysia including the Health, Armed Forces, Police, Fire and other emergency response teams that currently use Sepura radios in Malaysia on the Government Integrated Radio Network (GIRN).

Subsequent hybrid networks

The representatives from the National Security Council were led by Mr. Ahmed Syam bin Che Kub, Acting Director of Security Development Division who is represented by Ts. Khasrul Azam bin Mansor. They were joined by 3 representatives from the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit that is led by Pn Zaiha Binti Mat Nor, Deputy Director of ICT Consulting Division. Also present was Sapura Research Sdn Bhd GIRN Program Director, Mr. Ahmad Azira bin Ayob.

The engaging discussion between the teams presents covered current capability, future developments of TETRA and the options for subsequent hybrid networks supporting both narrowband and broadband devices.

The delegation enjoyed a visit to the new demonstration room within Sepura’s Kuala Lumpur office. Here the Sepura team demonstrated the latest SC Series TETRA radio features, including water porting, Over the Air Programming and some of the latest AppSPACE applications including SmartChat and Vehicle Crash Alerter.

The delegation was also shown Sepura’s new SCG22 mobile TETRA radio, demonstrating its powerful gateway capability and extensive suite of accessories, making it suitable for cars, vans, motorcycles and boats, as well as having a desk mount option. The SC20 and SC21 handheld radio car and motorbike kit options were demonstrated to show Sepura’s flexible solution for power and audio control, enabling organisations to choose a solution that best suits their operational needs.

Intelligently connected devices

Sepura’s Worldwide Sales Director, Terence Ledger, commented: “This visit of the National Security Council delegation to our new Demonstration Room in Kuala Lumpur enabled us to show senior staff the powerful functionality now available in Sepura TETRA radios.
