Esterline Corporation, a leading specialty manufacturer serving global defence and security markets, is premiering its Racal Acoustics ELITE headset at the Home Office Security and Policing event in Farnborough, U.K. on 8-10 March 2016. This is the European debut of ELITE at a security exhibition.
The ELITE headset is a unique product for the police, security and emergency services sectors, combining a trio of state-of-the-art hearing protection, advanced local area awareness, and secure communications in the one unit. It is the first commercially-available headset developed to meet stringent defence and security specifications.
Designed in the U.K. and tested by two U.K. and other overseas police forces, the ELITE headset enables the user to hear two radio systems simultaneously. It is ruggedised to function in the most severe environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet or dust. The ELITE is tailor-made for armed response units, counterterrorism operators, and SWAT teams.

Through its acquisition of Racal Acoustics in 2009, Esterline has acquired a pedigree of supplying its Racal Acoustics equipment to 24 U.K. security and police services, including the West Midlands, West Yorkshire, Metropolitan and Essex forces. The new ELITE headset is the latest product in a broad portfolio of hearing protection and communications equipment developed to support security, policing and emergency services professionals around the world.
