The Security Industry Association (SIA) has opened the call for nominations for the 2024 SIA Women in Biometrics Awards, a globally recognised program presented by SIA with support from organisational and media partners AVISIAN, Biometric Update and SIA’s Identity & Biometric Technology Advisory Board and Women in Security Forum. 

The recipients of this year’s Women in Biometrics Awards will be honoured at the 2024 SIA GovSummit, SIA’s annual government security conference.

Now in its tenth year, the SIA Women in Biometrics Awards program is a renowned initiative celebrating the outstanding and innovative women in biometrics who are helping our industry effectively protect people, places, facilities and communities,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson.

We are proud to present these awards each year, and we encourage our members and the broader industry to participate in this important effort by nominating and recognising the inspiring women pioneering the way in this vital technology market.”

Contributions to the biometrics field

SIA Women in Biometrics Awards recognise women pioneers in biometric identity and security industry

The SIA Women in Biometrics Awards recognise top women pioneers in the biometric identity and security industry. Nominees and past winners include those working for biometric companies, peripheral suppliers, system integrators, academia, government and security and IT departments at a variety of organisations in the United States and internationally.

Each nominee should exemplify one or more of the following contributions to the biometrics field:

  • Leadership: Substantive and defining leadership in academic, public awareness, legislative and/or standards efforts
  • Participation: Efforts that go above and beyond individual company/organisational/agency walls and into the larger identity sphere
  • Innovation: Pioneering biometric product, service or solution development and/or advancement
  • Mentoring: Industry involvement sharing expertise and mentoring peers, thus growing the market.

Cutting-edge security topics

Nominations for the 2024 SIA Women in Biometrics Awards program will be accepted until Friday, March 29. A jury including previous award winners will select this year’s honourees.

The 2024 SIA Women in Biometrics Awards will be presented during the 2024 SIA GovSummit–the nation’s premier government security conference connecting government, security and technology. Each year, SIA GovSummit brings together government security pioneers and private industry technologists for top-quality information sharing and education on cutting-edge security topics affecting federal, state and even local agencies. This year’s GovSummit will be held May 21-22 in downtown Washington, D.C.
