The Security Industry Association (SIA) introduces SIA OSDP Verified, a new comprehensive testing program that validates a device’s conformance to the SIA Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) standard and related performance protocols.

Products that are OSDP Verified will be displayed in the OSDP Verified Product List and be able to use the SIA OSDP Verified mark in their product marketing materials.

Access control communications

SIA OSDP is an access control communications standard developed by SIA to improve interoperability among access control and security products. Already in use by many manufacturers, the standard is recommended for access control installations that require advanced security or will be used in government and other higher-security settings.

SIA OSDP has been steadily gaining momentum as the standard for secure access control, and SIA is pleased to present the OSDP Verified program, which will provide an authoritative listing of OSDP solutions and reduce confusion in the access control ecosystem,” said Joe Gittens, director of standards at SIA.

High-security access control solution

Becoming SIA OSDP Verified and displaying the SIA OSDP Verified mark on your company’s product will instil confidence in integrators, specifiers and practitioners that the device will work as intended for its access control use cases and provide an interoperable, high-security access control solution.”

Benefits of SIA OSDP Verified include an authoritative listing of OSDP solutions; a consultative process that provides vendors with implementation and remediation guidance; a lightweight, nonpunitive program with no annual membership fees; and continuous access to open-source testing tools and community feedback that promotes device conformance through the product life cycle.
