The Security Industry Association (SIA) is pleased to announce that Genetec Inc. (Genetec) and SAGE Integration will each receive a 2022 SIA Member of the Year Award. SIA will present the honourees with their awards on March 22, 2022 at The Advance 2022, SIA’s annual membership meeting, which will take place during the ISC West 2022 exhibition, at the Venetian Expo, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The SIA Member of the Year award honours SIA member companies that have shown notable involvement in SIA committees and working groups, SIA events and the SIA Education@ISC conference programme, leadership activity, recruitment of SIA members, and contributions to SIA thought leadership, and the industry overall.

In 2022, the Security Industry Association (SIA) will present the award to two companies – highlighting the diversity of the association’s membership and showcasing companies of different scales that exhibit outstanding engagement in SIA and the security industry.

Genetec

Genetec, a globally renowned technology provider of business intelligence, unified physical security, public safety and operations, has been a corporate member of the Security Industry Association since 2010. The company and its employees actively participate in a variety of SIA programmes, events, offerings and services.

Fifteen of Genetec’s employees serve on SIA’s committees, working groups, advisory boards and communities, and Genetec’s Vice President (VP) of Marketing, Andrew Elvish serves on SIA’s Executive Council.

2021 SIA Women in Security Forum Scholarship fund

Members of the Genetec team have participated in SIA’s Audio & Intelligent Communications Working Group and spoken at multiple SIA events, including ISC East, SIA GovSummit and Securing New Ground. The company is a regular sponsor of key SIA events and made a generous Diamond Level donation to the 2021 SIA Women in Security Forum Scholarship fund.

Importance of cyber security

Pierre Racz adds, “Change takes time and can be difficult, but SIA demonstrated industry-wide leadership over the past year, as we worked together to limit the risks posed by untrustworthy manufacturers within our industry. Current events demonstrate that cyber security is a clear and present danger, and the cost of ignoring the peril increases with time.”

SAGE Integration

SAGE Integration, a national security integration provider, serving enterprise clients from coast to coast, and protecting their people, facilities and reputations, joined the Security Industry Association (SIA) in 2019.

The company is an enthusiastic SIA member and has been involved in a variety of SIA events, programmes and initiatives, with 14 of SAGE Integration’s employees serving on SIA’s committees, working groups, advisory boards and communities.

Active participant in SIA events

SAGE Integration is an active participant in SIA events, frequently attending the Security Industry Association’s Vertical Insights Symposiums, SIA Women in Security Forum events, SIAThere! networking offerings, webinars and info sessions, along with SIA’s Market Leaders Reception at ISC West, the annual Securing New Ground conference and other in-person, and virtual events.

SAGE Integration also has strong engagement on SIA’s learning and development schemes, including the Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) and Security Industry Cybersecurity Certification (SICC) credential programmes, Security Project Management (SPM) training seminars and SIAcademy LIVE! course series.

The Advance 2022

The Advance 2022 conference will take place on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. PDT, during the ISC West 2022 exhibition. At this special membership meeting, attendees will review official association business, recognise volunteer achievements from the past year and exchange market intelligence for the year ahead.

The Advance 2022 conference will feature a presentation from special guest speaker - Matt Barnette, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PSA Security Network (PSA). In addition to presenting the SIA Member of the Year Award, the Security Industry Assocation (SIA) will honour the 2022 recipients of the SIA Chair’s Award, Sandy Jones Volunteer of the Year Award and Committee Chair of the Year Award.
