Sahara Benelux, a value-add audio-visual distributor in the Netherlands, announces the deployment of multiple Matrox-based IP ecosystems in their technology demo room. A distribution partner of Matrox Graphics Inc., Sahara Benelux designed their new showcase room to host live, fully-functional demonstrations of advanced AV/IT signal distribution systems built using Matrox Mura IPX video wall cards, Matrox Maevex 6150 quad 4K enterprise encoder appliances, and Matrox Extio 3 IP KVM extenders.

Together, these new platforms enable Sahara Benelux to offer customers a first-hand experience of the tangible, real-world benefits of capturing, streaming, recording, extending, switching, all while displaying exceptional-quality, low-bitrate content on a standard one Gigabit Ethernet network.

Matrox Mura-powered video wall processor

The primary attraction is the control room demo featuring a typical multi-operator plus video wall environmentMatrox Sahara Benelux’s technology demo room, located in their new offices within Eindhoven’s Strijp-T tech district—specifically, the former iconic Philips factory—spotlights several Matrox-driven ecosystems. The primary attraction is the control room demo featuring a typical multi-operator plus video wall environment, but in an advanced networked AV installation.

A Matrox Mura-powered video wall processor containing a Matrox Mura IPX capture and IP encode/decode card and Matrox C680 multi-monitor graphics card combination captures and displays a variety of physical and IP sources across four LCD panels. Directly in front of the wall are two seating positions; from one seat, an ‘IT administrator’ streams multiple 4K contents to the video wall via a Matrox Maevex 6150 encoder appliance, while the second ‘operator desk station’ position uses Matrox Extio 3 IP KVM extender technology to highlight seamless ‘many-to-one’ extension and switching.

To complete the control room showcase, the administrator leverages the Matrox encoding technology in the aforementioned video wall controller to share either the entire 2x2 video wall or a selected region of interest to a remote 4K video wall for manager review or collaboration purposes.

Hands-on technology demonstrations

Sahara Benelux’s new demo centre is a perfect illustration of the lengths to which they will go to provide a true value-added service"The new Matrox-powered showcases now provide us with a true, state-of-the-art lab where integrators and resellers can bring their customers on site for hands-on technology demonstrations,” says Robin van der Heiden, dealer manager, Sahara Benelux.

Previously, we would highlight technologies in a piecemeal approach, but we had soon found a growing number of customers wanting to see both standalone and interconnected product presentations. Today, customers can freely engage with world-class streaming and recording—and within context.

Sahara Benelux’s new demo centre is a perfect illustration of the lengths to which they will go to provide a true value-added service,” says Cecilia Wills, country manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. “There are few occasions to see live, end-to-end IP ecosystems, and this permanent, multi-product installation offers AV integrators and resellers free access to explore the latest cutting-edge technology.
