The latest best practices in anti-terrorism, risk management, and intelligence gathering for securing large cities and businesses around the globe will be the focus of the ASIS 27th New York City Security Conference & Expo, taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre in New York City between 7th-8th June 2017.
Security management professionals
In addition to being the largest event for security professionals in the northeast region, ASIS NYC 2017 will also provide an opportunity for public sector security and law enforcement and military personnel to learn about transitioning into the private sector. ASIS International (ASIS), the largest membership organisation for security management professionals worldwide, and the ASIS New York City Chapter, are co-hosting the two-day programme.
“This event will provide critical education on the latest practices and a hands-on look at the technology required for keeping cities safe around the world”, says Thomas J. Langer, CPP, 2017 president, ASIS International. “The focus on safety and security for the public at ASIS NYC 2017 is especially important in the wake of the tragic attacks in London, Paris, and Brussels over the past year.”
At the event, the NYC chapter will honour New York City Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill as its “Person of the Year.” O’Neill, whose law enforcement career spans 34 years, will be honoured for his dedication to law enforcement and the security profession, as well as his steadfast commitment to a safe and secure nation.
