Qognify, a provider of video and enterprise incident management solutions, has announced an upgrade programme for customers of its video management system (VMS) Ocularis.

Launching in May 2023, the programme will provide a clear and compelling roadmap that will enable existing Ocularis customers to upgrade seamlessly to the flagship Qognify VMS.

Qognify VMS

A next-generation management system, Qognify VMS combines the powerful core of an enterprise-class system with advanced ecosystem integrations, integrated video analytics capabilities, cloud storage options, low total costs of ownership, and business process support that adds value beyond physical security.

Jeremy Howard, VP of Sales Physical Security, Americas, explains, “In recent years the requirements for physical security systems have changed significantly. Video technology is increasingly becoming part of an integrated physical security ecosystem and therefore needs to interact with other technologies such as video analysis, access control, licence plate recognition (LPR), and physical security information management (PSIM) solutions. This is the power of Qognify VMS.“

Future-proof video management system

It offers a wide range of capabilities including cloud storage, embedded video analytics"

Howard adds, “With Qognify VMS, we have a future-proof video management system that meets all of these advanced enterprise requirements today."

"In addition, it offers a wide range of capabilities including cloud storage, embedded video analytics, global system monitoring, and health check as well as PSIM/incident management options, which can be adapted to the specific requirements of multiple industries even beyond physical security requirements.

Comprehensive upgrade tool

Currently, any Ocularis customer can upgrade to Qognify VMS and, since Ocularis is built on the Qognify VMS recorder, customers can maintain video recordings and many system settings, thus minimising the time and effort of switching to a new software interface.

In addition, a comprehensive upgrade tool supports partners and customers with the changeover. However, the upgrade programme to be released in May will focus on current differences between the software products and when they will be addressed in future Qognify VMS versions along with their associated release time frames. This way, Ocularis end-users will be able to choose for themselves when is the right time to upgrade to Qognify VMS.
