Pulse Secure, the leader in secure access solutions, recently announced enhancements to its core product portfolio to help organisations secure access to applications in the data center and the cloud. Upgrades to Pulse Connect Secure, Pulse Policy Secure and Pulse Workspace will help enterprises eliminate security silos without the need for additional administrative overhead and investments while increasing both productivity and the user experience for the next generation worker.

Enterprises facing new generation of challenges

Enterprises are facing a new generation of challenges including providing secure access for workers who are increasingly mobile and embracing the cloud while meeting compliance requirements and protecting corporate data. Pressured by today’s enterprise tech-savvy workers who demand access to the devices and the applications of their choosing in the name of productivity, IT organisations have often responded by deploying disparate point products for security. In addition, enterprise networks have become borderless, and the new generation of workers are using a diverse set of applications. These elements can create silos that make it difficult for IT to manage security, which ultimately influences an acceptable user experience.

“IT complexity is being fueled by rapid advances in consumer technology, the emergence of the Internet of Things and the rise of the tech-savvy employee. Plain and simple, our customers need and are demanding secure access solutions that address these next generation challenges,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, CEO of Pulse Secure. “We’ve developed a holistic solution set designed to meet their secure access needs both today and in the future. Our solutions provide a seamless experience so users have secure access to any applications from any device on any network while IT maintains a complete view of the entire security environment.”

To address these next generation challenges, Pulse Secure has made the following key enhancements to its secure access solutions:

  • Secure access for next generation of applications – With Pulse Connect Secure 8.2, customers have the flexibility to deploy the thick or thin applications business needs from the cloud or datacenter. Enhanced support for HTML5 makes it even easier to deploy applications and support mobile workers connecting to corporate resources from a company managed laptop or a BYOD mobile device. Enterprises can now use this clientless solution, with no plug-ins or extensions, to provide web browser support for RDP, Telnet and SSH. The latest version of Pulse Connect Secure now offers a more dynamic UI to match the administrator’s need for a snapshot of the appliance statistics from active and authorized users to device and compliance sessions.
  • Secure access for next generation of networks – Mobile devices, WiFi and the cloud are redefining the network perimeter. Pulse Policy Secure 5.3 helps IT admins stay in control with centralised policy management across multivendor networks that enforce security through access points, firewalls and mobility management solutions.  New integration with Palo Alto Networks firewall provides additional context-aware information including user identity and device security compliance.  The modern user interface provides IT admins an overview of active users, devices and roles.  For the end users, a streamlined guest registration portal is now available, eliminating the need for time-consuming case-by-case contact by help desk personnel. See the demo.
  • Secure access for next generation of workers – Pulse Workspace offers workers access to corporate mobile apps and services without infringing on their privacy while maintaining corporate compliance. Workers feel confident in knowing their personal data and activities remain private and that the enterprise can only access and wipe corporate apps and data.  Pulse Workspace simplifies mobile management and allows enterprises to keep pace with the latest mobility innovations such.
