Pluralsight, Inc., the enterprise technology skills platform announced a new partnership with Google Cloud to provide enterprise companies an on-demand, role-based approach to skill development on Google Cloud technologies.

Already partnering to reskill developers in India and Africa, the companies are also joining forces to increase Google Cloud expertise worldwide.

Leveraging Google Cloud technologies

Google Cloud’s suite of products and services are critical to companies across all industries around the world,” said Nate Walkingshaw, chief experience officer at Pluralsight.

With companies turning to Google Cloud to manage their businesses, they need to empower their teams"

With companies increasingly turning to Google Cloud to manage their businesses, they need to empower their teams to develop the skills necessary to make the best use of Google Cloud. As partners, we can ensure Google Cloud customers are putting their best foot forward to leverage Google Cloud technologies and thrive in a cloud-based environment using the Pluralsight platform.”

Google Cloud Role IQs

Through the partnership, Pluralsight will grow its Google Cloud course collection by adding more than 50 Google Cloud-authored courses to its library of expert-authored courses on the Pluralsight platform.

In addition, Pluralsight and Google Cloud plan to create Google Cloud Role IQs to provide technology professionals with an efficient and clear way to measure their expertise level across the skills they need to be successful in their roles. Through analytics, CIOs and CTOs will then be able to see their teams’ technical abilities on Google Cloud technologies to ensure they have the right people on the right projects.

Cloud computing

Companies are moving to the cloud because it offers the agility they need to compete in a fast-moving, rapidly changing customer environment. 77 percent of IT and business decision-makers will use the cloud for a majority of their needs by 2029.

Gartner predicts the five-year CAGR (in constant USD) for the public cloud services market through 2022 is forecast at 16.6%, hitting USD 360.2 billion by 2022. The rapid growth in cloud computing is equally driving an intense demand for cloud talent. According to an Indeed survey, Google Cloud is the skill that is seeing the fastest-growing demand in job listings with a 66.74% increase over the past year.

Role-based, measurable approach

As adoption of cloud technologies accelerates across industries, companies increasingly face shortages in relevant cloud skills. Pluralsight has worked to address these shortages and provide timely and relevant courses to its immense network of enterprise customers,” said Jason Martin, VP, Professional Services, Training, and Support, Google Cloud.

Our new partnership with Pluralsight will provide enterprises with a role-based, measurable approach to skill development. This approach goes one step beyond providing training, and delivers insight into individuals’ expertise levels, letting companies know where they are excelling and where more professional development is required.”
