OPTEX, a sensor manufacturer for more than 40 years, will demonstrate its new FlipX indoor series for the first time in South Africa at Securex.

The new sensor range - which comprises the FlipX Standard and Advanced models - provides highly accurate and reliable detection due to a bespoke pyroelectric sensor and a unique lens that can be ‘flipped’ to provide both a narrow and wide detection in a single device.

Grade 2 FlipX Standard sensor

The sleek and compact Grade 2 FlipX Standard sensor is ideal for securing indoor environments, such as residential areas or small commercial sites.

The Grade 3 FlipX Advanced sensor is designed for environments with a heightened level of risk, and guards against attempts to mask or tamper with the product. It is suited to larger commercial buildings, datacentres, and banks.

EchoPoint™ series

Securex will also be the first occasion in South Africa for OPTEX to present its recently launched Fiber Sensys EchoPoint™ Distributed Acoustic Sensors (DAS), its latest innovation in fibre optic sensing technology.

The EchoPoint™ series utilises an intelligent detection algorithm, that provides precise detection of +/- 6m in a range of up to 100km perfect for protecting large perimeters and high-security sites.

CHeKT solution

CHeKT solution, a cloud-based software that integrates third-party alarms, cameras, videos

During the event, the team will also be demonstrating its CHeKT solution, a cloud-based software that integrates third-party alarms, cameras, video, and sensor technologies, bridging all these components together.

The solution runs through highly secure protocol software in which users can monitor in real-time, deterring intruders with lights or audio systems that can be controlled remotely.

Innovations and detection solutions

Scott Wilson, Divisional Manager at OPTEX, says that Securex is the perfect event for OPTEX to showcase its latest innovations, “As South Africa’s leading platform and showcase for security technologies, Securex is the ideal opportunity to demonstrate our latest innovations and detection solutions to our customers and partners in South Africa."

Scott Wilson adds, “Throughout the event, we will be providing live demonstrations of our new solutions, proving the versatility of our FlipX indoor sensor range and the pinpoint accuracy of the new EchoPoint DAS series.”
