ONVIF, a standardisation initiative for IP-based physical security products, announced that representatives from member companies Dahua Technology and Huawei will be speaking on behalf of ONVIF at the 13th China International Exhibition on Public Safety and Security 2016 (Security China), to be held in Beijing, on October 25-28 at the China International Exhibition Centre. In addition to the presentation to attendees, ONVIF will be a sponsor of the 2016 Security China event.

Internet of Things

Tim Shen of Dahua Technology and Qian Zhou of Huawei will speak to Security China 2016 attendees about the benefits provided by ONVIF in municipal security systems, in security systems with multiple brands, and in Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Their presentation is part of Security China’s 2016 China International Security Technology Development Forum and will be held on October 25. The presentation will also include an overview of ONVIF’s history, current profiles, and opportunities for industry involvement within ONVIF’s standardisation activities.

“ONVIF’s strength is in its membership, so it is fitting that Tim and Qian will be speaking together at Security China 2016 about ONVIF’s continued growth and applications in IoT and safe/secure cities,” said Per Björkdahl, ONVIF Steering Committee Chair.

Founded in 2008, ONVIF
now consists of nearly 500 member companies in six continents and more than 7,000 Profile conformant products

“As the adoption of IP-based physical security products continues to grow and the demand for interoperability heightens, standards like ONVIF’s become increasingly important in integrations between multi-brand devices and clients and between physical security and other types of IP-based systems.”

Profile conformant products

Qian Zhou is a Senior Engineer in the Industry Marketing & Solution Department for Huawei and is the ONVIF Use Case Working Group Chair, an internal committee charged with developing real-world use cases in response to current market demand. Tim Shen is the Marketing Director at Dahua Technology USA, where he manages marketing strategies and inside sales, overseeing marketing communication, channel marketing, graphic design, and content creation.

Founded in 2008, ONVIF now consists of nearly 500 member companies in six continents and more than 7,000 Profile conformant products. With Profile S for streaming video; Profile G for recording and storage; Profile C for physical access control; Profile Q for improved out-of-the-box functionality, and the Release Candidate Profile A for access control configuration, ONVIF continues to work with its members to expand the number of IP interoperability solutions ONVIF conformant products can provide.
