Onfido, the pioneer in automated identity verification, announced the appointment of Daniel Keller as Chief Technology Officer. Daniel brings over two decades of leadership experience to the company’s executive team alongside a track record of transforming and expanding tech-driven products and platforms on a global scale.

Daniel joins Onfido from Visable Group where, under his direction, the company transformed from a B2B directory provider to Europe’s pioneering B2B marketplace.

Digital identity innovation

As CTO, Keller led the innovation roadmap across product development, engineering, IT and business intelligence. He now brings this experience to Onfido to keep the company at the forefront of digital identity innovation and maintain the company’s growth trajectory.

His appointment comes as Onfido continues to secure industry recognition for its innovation in identity verification. This month, Onfido picked up the Best Innovation in Computer Science award at the CogX Awards for the development and application of computer vision AI in detecting fraud faster and more accurately. Elsewhere, the business premiered as a pioneer in G2’s Anti-Money Laundering Grid and its Europe Regional Grid for Fraud Detection. It is now listed on 25 G2 reports with seven provider badges across five categories.

He adds, "I look forward to supporting Onfido’s mission to simplify identity for everyone and help reshape verification in the online world.”

Over the last twenty years, Daniel has held executive positions at Scout24, Ciao!, Zanox (AWIN), Axel Springer, Hitfox (IONIQ Group) and was an engineering manager at Microsoft. He also has experience working with various startups, including Berlin-based Solarisbank, where he assisted with laying the groundwork for building its successful banking-as-a-platform product portfolio.

Mike Tuchen, Chief Executive Officer of Onfido added: “Daniel is a real asset to the executive team. His strength as a technical but strategic pioneer, who understands how to manage investments across a multi-product portfolio will be invaluable to Onfido as we continue to grow. His management ethos, where he puts his team first, fits perfectly into our culture, and there’s no doubt that he will flourish in his role.”
