Multitone Electronics plc, a provider of design, manufacture and implementation of integrated communication systems, announces that it German-based team, Multiton Elektronik GmbH, has supplied and installed its EkoSecure emergency signalling system to protect waste management staff at the Göttingen University Medical Centre in Germany.

Maximum employee safety

Wilfried Rexhausen, the team leader responsible for the disposal management at Göttingen University Medical Centre, explained the key reasons for using Multitone’s emergency signalling system: “We wanted to ensure maximum safety for our employees, as well as using a system with maximum mobility and reliability.”

As an internal service provider, disposal management at the University Medical Centre in Göttingen is entrusted with important functions in the field of waste management. This includes, amongst other things, the daily handling of dangerous materials. At the same time, the protection of employees in remote or solitary locations or handling of dangerous items, is a top priority.

EkoSecure system features

The EkoSecure system features large-area coverage transmitters that ensure the safety of employees, both indoors and outdoors, around the site. For example, personnel are protected in the container conveyor area of the waste management building, which features individual openings (that are separated by waste types) for filling containers in the floor below. In addition, cooling areas as well as pre-treatment and follow-up sections are also secured.

Frank Rotthoff, Managing Director of Multiton Elektronik GmbH commented, "We are delighted to be working with Göttingen University Medical Centre. Reliable, mobile and permanent availability for the protection of employees is crucial for a personal emergency signalling system. Highly reliable, EkoSecure provides a substantial level of employee safety in a variety of applications, with the flexibility of further expansion later if required.”

EkoSecure provides Göttingen University Medical Centre with an integrated, centralised and user-friendly emergency alarm system that uses mobile devices and removes the need for complex cabling. The solution ensures that the position of the employee is reported quickly and precisely to the linked devices of their colleagues, security personnel, a central office, or (optionally) to external services. Assistance can be initiated immediately and staff guided precisely and rapidly to the location. The system is certified by the DGUV in accordance with the DIN VDE V 0825-1 standard.
