Matrox Graphics Inc. is pleased to announce that the Matrox Maevex 6150 quad 4K enterprise encoder appliance is a recipient of the NewBay Best of Show Award, presented at the 2018 NAB Show by Sound & Video Contractor. The ground-breaking Maevex 6150 encoder took top honours for its ability to simultaneously capture, stream, and record up to four 4K inputs from a single appliance.

NewBay’s Best of Show Awards panel of engineers and industry experts selected Maevex 6150 based on innovation, feature set, cost efficiency, and performance in serving the industry. The all-in-one Maevex 6150 appliance—now Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) ready—can feed on-premises and cloud-based servers to reach internet viewers, push many streams over LAN for local audiences, and record to local or network storage for later editing and viewing, concurrently.

The included Maevex PowerStream Plus streaming and recording management application also provides complete reach and control over the entire Maevex network—including Maevex 6100 Series quad 4K enterprise encoder cards and appliances, as well as Maevex 5100 Series Full HD encoders and decoders. The PowerStream Plus API—with access to the complete feature set—and the REST API meanwhile, are available upon request for integrators and developers looking to create unique control application or to include Maevex functionality into existing ones.

The NewBay Best of Show Awards program seeks to shine a spotlight on relevant innovations in technology as seen around the million-square-foot exhibit floor of the industry’s top trade show,” said Paul McLane, NewBay managing director, content. “The 2018 winners and nominees give real insight into where and how rapidly our media tech businesses are evolving.

Delivering high-quality 4K content

Matrox is thrilled to see Maevex 6150 recognised as the outstanding multi-HD/4K encoder at NAB,” says Ron Berty, business development manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. “Maevex 6150 offers a remarkable streaming and recording feature set, and when paired with cloud-based solutions over SRT as demonstrated at NAB, this platform enables organisations to easily deliver live, high-quality, 4K content from any source to any destination.
