IoT Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organisation that recognises the top companies, technologies, and products in the global Internet-of-Things (IoT) market announced that it has selected Johnson Controls, a global pioneer for smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, as the winner of the “IoT Enterprise Software Company of the Year” award in the 7th annual IoT Breakthrough Awards programme.

OpenBlue solutions

Johnson Controls OpenBlue suite of solutions adds state-of-the-art IoT capabilities to existing building systems using AI-powered remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance to manage changing conditions like occupancy levels, indoor air quality, and weather and provide advanced risk assessments. OpenBlue leverages secure-edge gateways to efficiently gather data across building systems and assets and securely move that data to the cloud.

Building managers get actionable insights on saving energy costs, reducing carbon emissions, and increasing occupancy well-being so they can manage operations holistically. Johnson Controls’ proven solutions are helping customers create world-class buildings that serve people and the planet.

Smart buildings

By most estimates, buildings are responsible for 40% of all greenhouse gas emissions"

Everybody's talking about the role buildings play in climate change. By most estimates, they're responsible for 40% of all greenhouse gas emissions,” said James Johnson, Managing Director at IoT Breakthrough.

He adds, “Smart buildings are a hallmark for reduced energy consumption. Additionally, by using cutting-edge technology, workplaces, hospitals, schools, campuses, stadiums, enterprises and more can benefit from automation opportunities, building insights, predictive maintenance, and better resource utilisation."

Energy efficiency and optimisation concerns

James Johnson continues, “Johnson Controls OpenBlue transforms buildings into intelligent business partners to reduce energy costs, improve the occupant experience, and advance net zero goals. OpenBlue gathers enormous amounts of data and applies artificial intelligence to address the challenges of energy efficiency and optimisation. It’s a true IoT ‘breakthrough’ that we are thrilled to recognise in our 2023 IoT Breakthrough Awards program.”

Digital platform

Customers need the insights our solutions generate to achieve decarbonisation goals"

We are thrilled to receive this recognition from IoT Breakthrough. OpenBlue delivers measurable improvements no matter where customers stand on their sustainability journey.
