Iris ID, a provider of iris recognition technology, announces Kurt Wherley has joined the organisation as director of sales for workforce management, North America.

Wherley, who has more than 30 years of experience with time and attendance solutions, will develop new customers and support the sales channel for Iris ID’s recently launched IrisTime™ biometric-based workforce management platforms.

Kurt’s vast experience provides him with deep insights into the workforce management needs of small businesses to enterprise organisations throughout North America,” said Mohammed Murad, vice president, global sales and business development, Iris ID. “We’re confident he will drive dramatic growth for our time and attendance solutions.”

Previously, Wherley worked for 17 years with Schlage Biometrics, most recently as national account manager, time and attendance, working with customers to offer complete workforce management solutions. At Schlage, he helped launch new products and worked with management and engineering to develop product enhancements.

He also served as a national systems manager with Identatronics, a badging systems manufacturer, and a sales executive for Amano Cincinnati offering time management, parking and access control solutions worldwide.

At Iris ID, he will oversee the North American sales of IrisTime, which offers a new technique for authenticating employee identity by using a fusion of iris and face recognition to increase accuracy and convenience. The open Android-based platform accommodates hundreds of current time and attendance applications while also enabling independent software vendors (ISVs) to create custom software solutions meeting specific organisational needs. The contactless platform ships with a standard app capable of meeting the needs of many organisations.
