The HE-1101 HDMI/VGA Video Encoder from IDIS has been confirmed as a finalist in the 2018 Benchmark Innovation Awards. The annual award scheme focuses on security product innovations that deliver tangible benefits to installers and their customers. Judges were impressed by the way IDIS’s HE-1101 technology provides a cost-effective route to increased security control, optimal monitoring and enhanced situational awareness.

The HE-1101 allows operators to oversee multiple applications all from a single monitor by simply connecting hardware that has a VGA or HDMI output. So, in practice, as businesses grow or adapt to evolving threats, this innovative encoder allows them to manage everything — including video, access control, building management, intruder, fire and point of sale (PoS) systems — from a single user interface. Users can choose from the option of totally license free video management software (VMS), IDIS Center, or the advanced and modular, enterprise-level IDIS Solution Suite.

Remote controlling of integrated applications

Delivering true user-friendliness, the HDMI/VGA output is displayed and recorded exactly as a camera within the fully-functional IDIS VMS options. It allows operators remote mouse and keyboard control of integrated applications. This eliminates the need for expensive and complex integration — and constant updates to interfaces — which are often associated with security management systems. It benefits installers through fast implementation and maintenance and delivers IDIS’s signature low total cost of ownership for end users.

James Min, Managing Director, IDIS Europe, welcomed the Benchmark Innovation Awards shortlisting, saying it was the result of continual focus on innovation that benefits customers. “I am delighted at this latest recognition of our mission to innovate. The HE-1101 is another great example of IDIS pushing at technical boundaries in order to improve product design and put more control in the hands of our users.
