Hikvision, the supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, announces the integration of its ANPR cameras with software from Visec, creator of the Visec surveillance software suite and Visec LPR Cloud in South Africa. The integration allows direct communication between Hikvision cameras and Visec platform, eliminating costly hardware including computer or server, monitor and switches.

The result will provide a standalone license plate recognition solution engineered for easy capturing, analysis and recording of license plates. The solution will be mainly used for entrance/exit management in commercial and residential areas such as office building and shopping malls; and in government projects for ANPR solutions, assisting local police with enforcement operation.

Efficient video surveillance solution

"Visec has strategically collaborated with Hikvision to explore an efficient video surveillance solution. This cost-effective architecture allows us to significantly extend the coverage of the LPR CLOUD SA to reach an even wider customer base. The solution just needs a regular internet connection, without the cumbersome hardware, which greatly helps our clients save on their overall installation costs. We’re confident that this technology will expand the market,” says Gary Scagell, CEO of Visec.

As a member of Hikvision’s Smart camera family, Hikvision ANPR cameras efficiently recognise and analyse vehicle license plate numbers, whilst boasting Smart features including Smart Codec, Smart VQD and Smart Detection (intrusion detection, line-crossing detection etc). It also features low light illumination, enabling the cameras to capture clear number plates even in challenging lighting conditions.
