Heald Ltd, the Yorkshire-based manufacturer of hostile vehicle mitigation systems has been announced as the winner of the Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer category at the Outstanding Security Performance Awards 2022 (OSPAs).

The OSPAs were held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel London on 24th February 2022 bringing together over 500 professionals from the British security industry. Hosted by The Chase’s quizmaster, Paul Sinha, the OSPAs recognise and reward companies and individuals across the security sector. They are designed to be both independent and inclusive, providing an opportunity for outstanding performers, whether buyers or suppliers, to be recognised and their success to be celebrated.

Recognising product manufacturers

This year the competition was extremely tough with on average 20 entries per category"

The Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer award recognises an outstanding manufacturer of products that service the security market.  Manufacturers of any security product in any market were permitted to enter, with the winner of this OSPA having demonstrated incredible performance in manufacturing a leading-edge security product, which has produced clear beneficial results for customers.

OSPAs founder Professor Martin Gill commented, “This year the competition was extremely tough with on average 20 entries per category and sometimes many more.”

Evaluating and selecting the winners

He continued, “Each year the calibre of the nominations exceeds expectations and made the job of selecting the winners, particularly challenging for the 27-strong security experts you made up the judging panel – all nominated by the leading associations. All those that were selected as finalists and winners demonstrated that they are the absolute best and should feel extremely proud.”

Commenting on Heald’s win, Managing Director Debbie Heald MBE said “We are honoured to have won the OSPA award for Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer. We take extreme pride in the fact that we manufacture 100% of our products in the UK, this award is a real testament to our fabulous and dedicated team. I would like to extend my congratulations to all the other winners and those shortlisted.”
