With the launch of the Samsung Wisenet 4K PNF-9010R, Hanwha Techwin has declared its intention to set a new standard for 360-degree fisheye cameras.

Capturing superb ‘need to be seen to be believed’ 12-megapixel 360-degree images and with on-board dewarping, the PNF-9010R offers a variety of alternative viewing modes, including single panorama, double panorama, and quad views. In addition, the PNF-9010R has a significant number of other features which make it stand out from the crowd.

Heatmapping and people counting analytics

In addition to providing a powerful tool to deter and detect criminal activity, the PNF-9010R built in analytics will enable users to achieve so much more. In retail environments, for example, the people counting feature offers the opportunity to measure store efficiency between footfall and actual sales and also helps identify the busiest days, times, and seasons in order to manage peaks and troughs of customer flow at checkouts. The heatmapping feature is able to provide accurate information about customer’s in-store behaviour. It does so by displaying hotspots within a store to indicate customer buying patterns, including dwell times.

WiseStream technology

"Bandwidth efficiency is improved by up to 75% compared to current H.264 technology when WiseStream is combined with H.265 compression"

As is the case with all camera models in the Wisenet P camera series, the PNF-9010R features H.265 compression and WiseStream, a complementary compression technology which dynamically controls encoding, balancing quality, and compression according to movement in the image.

Bandwidth efficiency is improved by up to 75% compared to current H.264 technology when WiseStream is combined with H.265 compression. This ensures that Hanwha Techwin Europe’s new Wisenet P series is one of the most bandwidth friendly camera ranges available.

IR illuminators and bi-directional audio support

Other keys features of the PNF-9010R include IR illuminators and bi-directional audio support, whilst a single push of a button located at the back of the camera is all that is needed to automatically focus the camera via the Simple Focus feature which can also be remotely accessed via the network.

A digital PTZ allows users to electronically pan, tilt, and zoom in on specific areas for a more detailed view and at the same time continuing to monitor the whole 360-degree view. It also offers privacy masking, a 12VDC and PoE capability, and in the event of network disruption, video is automatically recorded to on-board SDXC storage to ensure that potential video evidence is not lost. An M12 connector makes it an ideal option for use on buses and trains where it can be used internally to monitor passenger activity, or externally, to monitor the road or track ahead.
