Guardian Zone is setting a new standard for real-time communication
“I am honoured to be included in the 2023 SIA WISF Power 100 group of outstanding women making a difference in the security industry,” said Guardian Zone CEO - Sheryl Pinckney-Maas.
Sheryl Pinckney-Maas adds, “I am passionate about championing diverse voices and perspectives in the workplace as well as developing new technologies that solve real-world problems and enhance safety and security.”
Leveraging her 25 years of experience as a Foreign Service Officer and U.S. Diplomat, where she lived in six international high-threat countries, Pinckney-Maas founded Guardian Zone in 2016, one of her defining innovation achievements.
Smart navigation apps
Much like how smart navigation apps revolutionised directions by crowdsourcing feedback, Guardian Zone is setting a new standard for real-time communication where fans attending concerts, sports, and school events can report crimes in real-time from their phones and communicate directly with security teams.
Whether the incident is an active shooter event or an instance of theft, sexual assault or medical emergency, security officers can use the Guardian Zone app to engage with attendees, disseminating either a “one-to-one” or “one-to-many” message with instructions on how to find safety.
Forefront of working with industry pioneers and associations
Beyond spearheading the vision, new business development and partnerships for Guardian Zone, Pinckney-Maas is at the forefront of working with industry pioneers and associations to enact new initiatives, standards and policies that benefit everyone.
She is a proud member of the Security Industry Association (SIA), SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) steering committee, National Centre for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4), and the Innovation Institute for Fan Experience (IIFX). Guardian Zone is also a graduate of the Microsoft for Startup Program.
