At INTERSEC Expo (Stand S1–J38, Dubai World Trade Center, January 17th-19th 2016), Genetec™, a manufacturer of unified IP security solutions will present the latest version of Security Center (version 5.4), its flagship open-platform IP security system that seamlessly combines video management systems (VMS), access control and automated number plate readers (ANPR) into a unified user interface. Visitors to the Genetec booth will also be able to meet the growing sales, service and marketing team for expert guidance and advice when evaluating the company's full product portfolio of security solutions, supported hardware and software partners from the company’s vast ecosystem of solutions partners.

Video management solution: Security Center 5.4

For the first time in the Middle East region, Genetec will demonstrate the new features in the recently available Security Center 5.4. With a focus on the ‘Security-of-Security’, this latest version of Security Center introduces new video encryption and authentication enhancements, reduced bandwidth consumption through H.265 support and a redesigned interactive map-based command and control module.

The new security threat countermeasures in Security Center 5.4 include authentication and encryption methods to ensure that only authorised personnel can access the security system. To mitigate the risk of cyber-threats, such as man-in-the-middle attacks, organisations will be able to implement digital certificates to guarantee trust within the system and implement new levels of encrypted communications between all Security Center components. By establishing a secure and trusted connection, Security Center is able to authenticate communications within the system, validating and ensuring that data and video are not exchanged with outside sources. This latest release also allows organisations to leverage specialised third-party claims services, including Active Directory Federation Services, to authenticate and manage Security Center user credentials.
