Gallagher is excited to announce that two new voices will be taking the reins for the Security in Focus: Tech Talk podcast beginning with the next episode due out at the end of March.

Shane Keesom, Engineering Centre of Excellence Lead, and Matthew Dean, Technical Support Team Leader, will take over as hosts as Chief Technology Officer, Steve Bell, focuses on other projects.

Customer-centric podcast

For nearly 18 years, Shane has been involved in the support and evolution of Gallagher’s security solutions and has recently taken up a new role leading the Engineering Centre of Excellence’s team of Solutions Engineers, having previously managed the Technical Support team.

Matt has been the Technical Support Team Leader at Gallagher for 8 years and is passionate about curating a smooth, world-class customer support experience. Together, they hope to cultivate a podcast that takes a customer-centric point of view while satisfying the interests of security technicians, installers, and everyone who want to learn more about Gallagher’s security solutions.

Valuable resource

This podcast discusses the information that’s relevant, and memorable and makes their lives easier"

Matt and I come from various technical backgrounds, but between us, we've also got lots of experience working with customers and solving site issues,” says Shane.

This podcast can be a valuable resource for helping our audience and their customers, discussing the information that’s relevant, memorable, and makes their lives easier.”

Podcast aim

Matt agrees, “I’m approaching the podcast with my customer hat on and thinking, what do they want to hear?"

"I listen to a lot of podcasts, and I love that forum for learning new things. I’m excited to chat with our guests and I’m expecting to learn a lot along with our audience.

Detailed conversations

That combination of technical and customer-centric focuses has both Shane and Matt excited to get started and dive into more detailed conversations about the latest topics on audiences’ minds.

For me,” says Matt, “it’s all about getting a good message across to people and being reactive within the podcast.”

Topical subjects

We can talk more about topical subjects and share the things happening right now"

Shane adds, “We’ve been putting out a Tech Bulletin newsletter for a while, but a podcast takes this to a whole new level."

"We can talk more about topical subjects, learn from subject matter experts, and share the things happening right now we believe audiences need to know about. It’s very exciting.”

Security in Focus

Chief Technology Officer, Steve Bell, will maintain involvement in the production of Security in Focus: Tech Talk, but Shane and Matt will officially take over as hosts of the podcast in the next episode debuting at the end of March. Steve will continue to host the Security in Focus: Security Scoop series.

Shane and Matt’s first Tech Talk episode featuring guest Dave Solly, a Value Owner for Gallagher Security’s R&D team, will be discussing perimeter solutions, or listening to favourite podcast app.
