Durite, the UK's pioneering brand in vehicle safety, lighting, and auto electrical parts for commercial vehicles, is excited to announce that it will be showcasing its fully compliant Progressive Safe System (PSS) at the FORS Annual Conference 2024, taking place on October 15th at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham.
This year’s FORS Conference, themed "Drive and Thrive: Your Roadmap to Success", will bring together over 500 transport and fleet management professionals to explore key industry trends, including compliance with the Direct Vision Standard (DVS) and the latest updates to the FORS Standard Version 7.
New DVS requirements
Durite will be available at Stand 14, alongside FleetSense, a trusted distributor of their products and a FORS Affinity Partner for vehicle safety solutions.
Together, Durite and FleetSense will offer operators guidance on how to meet evolving safety regulations and equip their fleets for compliance with new DVS requirements and FORS standards.
Durite’s PSS: Fully Compliant with DVS Standards
Durite’s PSS is an advanced, TfL-compliant safety solution designed to meet the stringent DVS
Durite’s Progressive Safe System (PSS) is an advanced, TfL-compliant safety solution designed to meet the stringent Direct Vision Standard (DVS) requirements set by Transport for London (TfL).
From October 28, 2024, all HGVs over 12 tonnes operating within Greater London must have a PSS installed to comply with the updated DVS regulations. Their system has undergone independent testing at Loughborough University, confirming its adherence to the highest safety standards.
Latest innovations in safety technology
Steve Reed, Research Associate at Loughborough University, who oversaw the testing, said: "While PSS systems can be self-certified, having an independent body like Loughborough conduct testing adds a higher bar of validation and gives operators confidence in the system’s compliance with TfL's standards."
Durite’s PSS includes the latest innovations in safety technology, providing comprehensive vehicle coverage through a combination of cameras, sensors, and audio alerts designed to protect vulnerable road users and improve driver visibility in urban environments.
Supporting FORS Version 7 compliance
Durite team will discuss how their products, including high-performance safety cameras
In addition to helping fleets meet DVS compliance, Durite will be offering expert advice on how their safety solutions support adherence to the latest FORS Standard Version 7, which is set to bring about new requirements in vehicle safety, environmental efficiency, and driver assistance.
The Durite team will be on hand to discuss how their products, including high-performance safety cameras, audible warning systems, and LED lighting solutions, can help operators meet the evolving FORS standards and reduce fleet risks.
Safety and compliance
John Nobbs, UK Sales Manager at Durite, commented: "The FORS Annual Conference is a perfect platform for us to engage with fleet managers and operators, particularly at a time when safety and compliance are top priorities."
"Our PSS solution, tested and validated by independent experts, gives operators the peace of mind that they are meeting DVS requirements while also supporting compliance with FORS Version 7."
