The first DSEI exhibitor day, held on Friday 17th March, 2017, at ExCeL, London, was a great opportunity for exhibitors to meet the DSEI team and get all the critical information and advice they need about the event, which takes place 12th – 15th September, 2017.

Rear Admiral Simon Williams, Chairman of Clarion Defence and Security, introduced the day and set the global context. The defence and security market is growing worldwide with different trends and focuses emerging in certain regions and countries.

EZONE online portal

He said: “DSEI 2017 will be the first big government-backed event to take place after Brexit negotiations have been triggered. It is a unique chance for exhibitors to showcase their products and skills. With five months to go, we invite all exhibitors to start the necessary preparations and use all the tools DSEI provides.”

EZONE, an online portal, was demonstrated in detail to show exhibitors where to access the information and materials they need. EZONE contains all the important information, compliance documents, marketing and PR details as well as booking forms and deadline dates. EZONE is essentially the place for exhibitors to start planning now to make sure they are all set to get the most out of the event.

Duncan Reid, Event Director for DSEI, explained in detail how the event will be run and all the benefits that exhibitors get by taking part in DSEI 2017. One example is the award-winning engagement programme with governments and defence officials, which enables exhibitors to meet with many official delegations.

Meeting potential customers

“DSEI is an extraordinary opportunity for exhibitors to meet potential customers and start new collaborations”

CMS Strategic, which manages PR for DSEI, explained the provision of the PR service they can offer exhibitors in the run-up to and during the event, including opportunities to feature in the DSEI Show Daily. Details and guidance were also given about social media, including the campaign that will be managed by Services Sound and Vision Corporation.

At the end of the day, Austen Hawkins, CEO of F2F Events Ltd, gave some valuable tips to exhibitors on how to stand out during the event and make it a success for each organisation. He explained how to set targets, engage with attendees and delegations, and follow up after the event.

Rear Admiral Simon Williams concluded the successful DSEI 2017 exhibitor day by saying: “DSEI is an extraordinary opportunity for exhibitors to meet potential customers and start new collaborations. It is a unique moment to make sure your company stands out. We wish exhibitors all the best for an excellent event.”

For those who could not attend this exhibitor day, there will be a second opportunity during Security & Counter Terror Expo at Olympia, London.
